Thread: A quetion about running
So... the bh attacks ... the battle has gone on for 10 minutes already and i'm makign no headway because i can't outdamage his doc 4000 or cm 4000 healing abilities with my 599 max damage 445 dps saber... i've been taking 1100-2k damage off and on from his critical shots... my roots work, but he slides.. my KDS go off from time to time and he slides out of range of power attacks.. etc.
basically i cant win.. and its clear... so i decide to run
the question is ... where?
I cant run into a house cuz of my TEF... and i'm told now that running into a factional base is some kind of a known issue and is frowned upon... and from what iread in this forum will soon be impossible...
so the question is, where do i run to? How do i out run him? His parwan is faster than my force run 1, and he can hit me from 80m away...
his speeder calls instantaneously and his droids can track me anywhere..
exactly WHERE do i run to when i run away from a BH? and how?
Please help.
I'll tell you what a mark did to me, and yes this comes from a BH (Puts on his flaming armor). It doesn't take too much effort in the heat of the fight to outsmart a BH cos he is more willing to go on fighting than you. Here's what happened to me and the Jedi who did that can be very proud and I respect him and his tactics.
The fight started in the middle of a lair so his force was not full and I caught him unawares. It lasted about 15 mins, when he started making a run for it. Root, force run and off he goes (no cloak). Combat breaks. I burst run I catch up with him, fight goes for another 3 mins. KD, root, force run off he goes again. I take out bike this time, same again. This happened 2 more times when, finally, he targetted my swoop rather than me. With swoop gone I spent more time to generate another so I lost him. Seeker out waiting, he sends a tell: "Do you still have mission?" I don't reply I wait until the seeker's feedback. WP active, I activate map he is nowhere near a city or house. "Great" I thought, "You're mine". To make a long story short he was near a camp of NPC's lvl 82 so when I engaged again, cos I was kiting, he forced me to go too near the NPCs and you can imagine what happened
. Hope this helps.

Can't get away? ....wellyou may need to change your template if you cant kill the BH. Maybe get Master Enhancer with cloak?
Good suggestion but you know they are Crying about that too.

my advice is wait till he uses all hes resources , root him then start fr, you keep running until the tef is gone which is 2.5 mins.
if he uses a speeder just type /target speederbike and you'll target his speeder then when he gets close use any range attack and boom, speeder is gone. i did it to a bh 3 times.
(btw the /target speederbike works both on swoops and speederbike havent tried with barc.)
then get in a house and logout, use your alt thats the only way imo to run and be safe.
Swoop = /target speeder
Speederbike = /target speeder
Av-21 = /target av
Barc = /target barc
AB-xx= /target ab
etc...
I usually find it's faster to manually target it, but if you have the room for hotkeys or wanna mess with the shortcuts that's another way to do it, you could actually have a single macro that targeted them all assuming the BH's is the only vehicle nearby it would run through the list targeting which ever he has out (90% of the time it will be /target speeder).
Might want to test this out first, as it's been three months or so since I finished my grind, but I haven't heard anything about this being changed. Hope it helps, good luck.
I am actually very nearly done my template, but i chose it for fun and the ability to help others, not for power or the ability to tank massive numbesr of mobs, which is why I'm struggling.
I'm MLS, Healer 4243 (headed for master), enhancer 3002, Novice Defender
I debated master enhancer/MLS, healer 4040, but i've been a healer type character since I started the game almsot 2 years ago and I wanted to keep that image and that play style. I'm not in it to pvp or to be the best. I just want to help my friends and enjoy myself.
So while i have nothing gainst cloak, and i know defender skills are useful, I dont have those.

I would underline that the lake thing can be tricky. It works on some planets but not on others.
On corellia or naboo just go in the sea, same for Yavin.
If you are on Tatooine or Lok or Dathomir, does not work.
Lakes on Dantooine are generally too small. Don't take the risk, especially if the BH has range cyborg arms (80m range) with rifle.
Do not do it on Rori. I had a BH chasing me on Rori when I was far from being able to fight back and I tried to escape driving in a lake to disconnect. Lakes on ROri are not deep enough, the BH will most likely find a zone where he is tall enough to be able to shoot. I learnt it the hard way. And there is only one big lake on Rori... no good.
Keep in mind that logging off is NEVER safe - even if you are out of gun range the BH can still send a droid out there after you, and without your heals a BH will take you out even a combat droid will take you out very quickly.

True, thing is I had no choice....I definitely did not have the skills / level to fight back. And he was chasing me on his bike a few meters behind.
Too close for me to be able to dismount, buy a ticket and shuttle out in time.
That is why one should always have a safe house AND tickets prebought

/agreed
i mean if this is becoming the usual answer for any Jedi problems now. THIS IS THE JEDI FORUMS
find a +25 TN tape (or multiple tapes if neccessary).
Get Parawan Nutricake and only the very best quality.
When you feel it is time to leave, kd, and /burstrun, followed by Parawan. Whenever you break aggro, then make a path tothe closest shuttle.
I do have some tips for you though. If you're trying to get away, forget about FR1. That's nice for actual combat but it's not fast enough for an escape. Kill the FR, root the bh, start running and pop parawan. When it runs out, pop it again. While you're running, open your datapad to bring out your bike as soon as combat breaks. You should have a good 30 second head start on the bh which should be long enough to escape on your bike.
Once on your bike, don't weave around the bh if he hops on his bike. When someone does that, I'll target the bike my foe is on and do the folling once I get in close: /dismount;/pause 1;/rangedshot or /saberthrow if it's my jedi. Boom...bike is toast. Or worst yet, target you and /dismount;/pause 1;/root attack. Now you're stuck in one spot, can't dismount, can't heal and under full attack. When fleeing on your bike, use straight lines but avoid going up steep hills. They slow you down.
