So... the bh attacks ... the battle has gone on for 10 minutes already and i'm makign no headway because i can't outdamage his doc 4000 or cm 4000 healing abilities with my 599 max damage 445 dps saber... i've been taking 1100-2k damage off and on from his critical shots... my roots work, but he slides.. my KDS go off from time to time and he slides out of range of power attacks.. etc.

basically i cant win.. and its clear... so i decide to run

the question is ... where?

I cant run into a house cuz of my TEF... and i'm told now that running into a factional base is some kind of a known issue and is frowned upon... and from what iread in this forum will soon be impossible...

so the question is, where do i run to? How do i out run him? His parwan is faster than my force run 1, and he can hit me from 80m away...

his speeder calls instantaneously and his droids can track me anywhere..

exactly WHERE do i run to when i run away from a BH? and how?

Please help.

LOL. how true

Just seems like well.. without anywhere to run to thats safe, whats the point of even running? they just chase you, and usually run faster and at the very least keep up with you so that when you get to wherever it is you're goign ... shuttleport? starport? they attack you so you cant use the terminal to buy a ticket anywhere...

As much as the game mechanics would have me believe otherwise, I'm not here for the sole purpose of providing amusement to people who enjoy griefing others while they're shopping at the bazaar, or hunting with friends, or helping someone with a quest at the village, or whatever.

Can't get away? ....wellyou may need to change your template if you cant kill the BH. Maybe get Master Enhancer with cloak?

Everyone needs to quit with the old line about knowing risks.
The game mechanics are ever changing.
The rewards for being Jedi slowly have been eroded away.
Many players want to be a Jedi without having to have PVP forced on them.
No they dont want to play KOTOR because that is a single player game.
Game sanctioned griefing is never good for a healthy game.
Even DAoC knew better than allowing lvl 50's into the homeland to gank low level players.
The full pvp servers were a failure.

the question is ... where?

This is your first mistake.

When running, the key thing to keep in your mind at all times is the FROM. You can worry about the TO when you get there.

Also, unless you are a veteran runner, I suggest you run early. All the kiddies use terms like l33t and ubar etc to show how good their skeelz are in PvP. Yes there is tactics and skill in fighting, but I have news for you, running away is an art form too.

I'm not talking about some click FR and go, I'm talking about proper getting away. When you have some top hunters on yer butt the pro-getthefcukoutofhere player can really shine.

Only the other day some guy called me a newb - I didnt reply, but he was good and if I was really a newb he wouldnt be looking at 2 butt cheaks disappearing over the hill at speed.

Since you obviously don't know what you are talking about, just refrain from posting and learn.

Now to the original poster :

You can run away from a BH, there are several ways : rooting + cloak + force run / burst run / run food. If he can use the food, you can too.

Once you did that, you can either : remain cloaked, and wait for the tef to wear out. Try to loose him, he will still have a hard time following you with a droid. If he uses an exploit to follow you while cloaked, report him and remember, he can't attack you anyway.
If you manage to break the tef, just jump on your bike. He will have to call his bike to follow you, but won't outrun you. So you can simply keep driving around until the tef wears of.

In either situation, you can now escape in two ways.
1- you have a safe house nearby, just drive towards it, store the bike while driving when arriving on the house, enter into as fast as you can.
2- you have in your inventory a ticket to shuttle out of one or two shuttles nearby, so just dismout and use you shuttle in macro (/board trans.

It won't work everytime, but should work.

I would underline that the lake thing can be tricky. It works on some planets but not on others.
On corellia or naboo just go in the sea, same for Yavin.
If you are on Tatooine or Lok or Dathomir, does not work.
Lakes on Dantooine are generally too small. Don't take the risk, especially if the BH has range cyborg arms (80m range) with rifle.
Do not do it on Rori. I had a BH chasing me on Rori when I was far from being able to fight back and I tried to escape driving in a lake to disconnect. Lakes on ROri are not deep enough, the BH will most likely find a zone where he is tall enough to be able to shoot. I learnt it the hard way. And there is only one big lake on Rori... no good.

So one advice, get FR3 as soon as you can, and buy running food and always buy a tickets by roundtrips so you are sure yuo can shuttle out back fast. Have a safe house carried with you and placed near your grinding place of the day.

Hi, Ryal

My situation is like you, i can't win the bh's generally. I'm mdef with ls 4004 and a normally saber.

When Bh attacks me and i see that i can't win him (normally), usually first i make /find rebel and go there running. Else i find a mountain and i stop it the base of the mountain, then i wait the BH, and i'm not attack him only i'm healing me (well only i attack him with a pistol with automatic ranged fire for damage a little), he can't kill me and i don't expense force, if he is bored he cancel target else surprisly i do him a snared and then a kdd then i go to run up the mountain and i obtain more of 80 meters then.

Then..i decided ... /find shuttle and i follow run or i take my bike. Then i travel shuttle to shuttle to shuttle and if is later i go to sleep... tomorrow will be another day.

I haven't jedi for a pvp when another person decide battle with me.

Luck, Ryal.

LMAO...I already said get cloak and force run in my first post in one paragraph.

So, I dont know what im talking about? ...lol, lets see.

I suggested getting FR
I suggested getting Cloak.
I suggested going for Master Enhancer: hmm, FR3, Stasis.
And better still, don't get on the terms.

I never suggested the lake thing as any good BH will have got you by then anyway.

well comment as to your lack of knowledge was only directed at the above copy-pasted sentence.

And then I said "now, to the original poster" which means that the comments I added below, including the one relating to the lake thingy, were not directed to you.

I hope it does clarify the situation a bit.

You do know its possible to not get on the terms right?

I wasjust stating that it is in fact possible to grind with ....hmm, lets say your own guild/friends and not get on the terminals which in turn makes life alot easier when you are low level (the original posted never even bothered to tell us what state template he/sheis in ie: full/new/repect available)

So, just to recap, it is possible to grind and get crazy XP without gettting on the terms. If you do get on the terms and find you need to run, I suggested picking a template what will allow you to do this easier.

Personally because I have finished my template im not bothered about BH death, so I don't bother with escape type templates as I like to pve tank more anyway.

If I was new grinding I would possible go for Force Run 3 and cloak while grinding then maybe drop them later when I had enough skills to deal with a BH. You may decide you like both of these skills and want to build them into your template anyway....depends what you find most fun to play.

If you wanna get away from a BH without having cloak there is a simple way to do it. Get forcerun for a start most of us have it as it seems to be a must because our terrain negotiation skills would suck otherwise. Now turn on your overhead map (CRTL+M) find a player house and run to it, now run around the edge of it keeping the BH on the other side you see him as a red dot on the overhead map and it will point which way he is gonna try and run around the house to get you. You just run the other way, do this until the combat breaks which it will do because the Line Of Sight system mean he can't shoot at you and after about 2 mins the combat will break. Keep an eye on your Icon next to your HAM bar it will stop flashing red when combat has broken. At this point if he hasn't given up, call your bike and drive to a shuttle get a ticket to an other shuttle or just leave the planet and go home or to a safe house and chill (your TEF will waer of in 2 mins). If he turns up at your house and asks you to come out just say no I can't beat you so imnot gonna fight you, im not here just so I can die and get you some credits. No where does it say that you have to fight PvP is just an option, it's part of being a Jedi but it doesn't mean you have to fight.

I do not beleive that as when you start grinding and leveling up jedi you can do it with any guarantee of safety in terms of visibility. The risk remains very high that a little event you can't control will put you on the terms and when grinding in group, this probability is increased a lot (a BH comes in, even for another jedi, a groupmemeber mistakenly disbands in the middle of a fight, an invited guest forgets to not come to close before being invited, a moron full templated jedi has fun cloaking and running through your group to tease you and put you on the terms -happened to metwoweeks ago-, unexpected spawn of NPCs, one member of the group is FS and did not warn about the fact that sith would come after him lol) . It is a huge lie to tell padawans they will be able to grind safely. They should all know that as soon as they start grinding it is just a matter of time until they will be put on the terms.
