I think the buff part makes sense

But the rez doesnt fit imo

Self-buffing removes half the part of doctor's uses in the game. The basic elites (non-jedi) are meant to be played as professions, not tools for grinding TO jedi....

Sorry for being pessimistic but this is my opinion

Buffs sound about right, but how it would fit into healer or any jedi profession i dunno. Enhancer already has the Speed buffs. Rez thou i have to say no it just doesn't seem right lol. Anyway if ya really wanted to rez you could just put the rez arm on.

What would be really nice for Master Healer box would be some kind of area heal for all who you are grouped with. That would be cool. I mean most that are master healer do not have that many defenses and should have thepower to heal all his allies. Even if this ability had a long timer and could only be usedat desperate times.

Ummm... Anakin is from the mvoies and he didn't have a "template" with skill points like Jedi do in the game. Also, you'll just have to accept the fact that very little about the game is in keeping with the movies.

I've been a master healer for a while now (1 of 5 on my server); from experience, total heal is not efficient at all because of its massive force cost -- it's only useful for healing incapped teammates during pvp or pve. One thing I would like to see for master healers is a reduced heal cooldown timer. Other than that, a rez would be nice but isn't extremely necessary.

Actually if you must know, I was raised in south Chicago.

And pre CU grenades? that doesnt give one skill with a saber in this game.

Anakin was a warrior jedi.... for those of you who played KOTOR he would fall into the Guardian category. (the blue saber is a giveaway). These jedi focused soley on the combative aspects of the force, mainly use of the lightsaber and combat-oriented force powers for offense and defense.

There are other types of jedi; scholars, diplomats, HEALERS.... the jedi order was large and vast with many different roles, not just who could be uber pwnzor with his saber. They were keepers of the peace remember. In fact it was anakin's preoccupation with combat and gaining power that made him more succeptable to the dark side.

Its obvious from your sig that you want to be considered the epitome of healer ability in this game. Thats cool, and fine by me. In fact, nothing Ive suggested here will take that away from you. Giving jedi healers a rez and buffs wouldnt make doctors obsolete; it would however give jedi players who dont care to be the uber pwnzor saber combat master another play option.

I think it's a good idea.

This post just sounds like the usual jedi hatred that abounds in the game. Taking stabs at jedi gaining their class by using the methods available in game is just petty...

I agree though, the movie jedi will be better than what in game jedi can achieve...

We need revive.

Doc's buff, that's their role.
Combat Medic's debuff, that's their role.

Master Force Healer consists of 3 abilities from MCM and 3 abilities from Doc:
MCM: shock, traumatize, hemorrhage
Doc: healwound, healdots (all four), healstates

If you ask me, I would say that we are about 1 ability short in 4000 0400 and 0040 and 2 abilities short in master.
It can be argued if we need buffs. If Iwas allowed to pick, there are things that I would prefer, such as Area Heal.

Sorry for saying it, but I believe Debuffs was a bad pick for Master Healers. Especially when picking one of the worst (shock) together with one that they would nerf badly (sap). We need more defensive abilities.

What we also need is ways to reduce our mindcost and forcecost for upkeeping a group, and there's a number of ways to do this:

1. Reducing Forcecost for ForceHeal and TotalHeal
2. Add a Mindbuff, preferably in the "Restoration" line.
3. An Area Heal makes it easier to upkeep a group.
4. We might need a second lowcost heal in the masterbox that is on a 2nd timer. If you ask me, this lowcost heal can replace TotalHeal.

Beyond that we have a few other issues:
* We do not get experience for what we do. Why would a Healer have to kill to earn experience? Enhancers do get experience for Suppression/Stasis etc.
* The States we can heal are rarely used, and the A.I reapplies them at once when they are.
* We cannot heal all new states such as Binding Strike and Warning Shot.
* The Sap nerf was unjust to masters that had Sap as their primary defense.
* A Jedi, such as Master Force Healer, have little practical use for Force Shock. Shock is great for a Combat Medic that have6 debuffs and 3 dots, but not for a MFH.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

Seana makes some real good points, along with a few others here.

In either case healer definately needs some love if more people are going to move beyond the 4xxx line.

I like the ideas of an area heal for sure.

Maybe instead of buff in the conventional sense, how about some sort of buff like an aura the healer jedi wears that gives a mild heal over time to the jedi's party if theyre within a certain radius? I remember something like that with the healers from city of heroes. (cant remember the name of the move)

As a Master Healer since Pre-CU

NO Rez ability.

Not sure I would like to see buffs either.

I would must rather have: another heal on a seperate timer, lower force cost on Total Heal, and the ability to heal ALL states (ie roots, snares, mez's)

As much as I disagree with a lot of the comments about Jedi being underpowered, I have to agree here. The entire healing profession for jedi needs to be upgraded. As many have mentioned, nearly all jedi pick up healer 4000 and nothing else, simply because nothing else is worth the skill point expenditure. The Total Heal ability seems dramatically underpowered for a Master Box skill, especially with the low incidence of wounds and removal of battle fatigue. The inclusion of a "heal all states" ability would be a huge help, especially if it removed root/snare/mez's. Not something I would like to see in the lower boxes, but certainly worthwhile in the master box.

Basically, I think there needs to be a Jedi branch that is not entirely "me" centric. Healers, and even enhancers to some degree, should be able to do alot more to assist groups. So the inclusion of area heals and the ability to remove states from others would be a nice addition. As with anything though, the biggest stumbling block for any of these changes will be the potential for abuse by those that just want to be "uber". And given that I've come across very few jedi that are willing to take on a support role in combat, giving Master Healer theability to help a group, as opposed to just the individual playing it, might be a lost cause.
