Of course you did, first few days of post-CU we had x4 XP on Chimera and x2 elsewhere.

I agree Zara, seems a case of people get there jedi and then call for xp to be nerfed once they are there! Bit selfish I think. With combat proff I kinda like the idea I can change template without it taking weeks.

agen i did not ask for an xp nurf i do agree that xp is to fast but we as a group of players refused the xp change with out even trying it out.

recap

new players join game and whant to become jedi. they must friest do the poi and theme parks. than the old man comes and tells him/her of an actiont artifacts. this leads the player to quist that will over time give 4 gold holos that tell you exaxly what 4 masters to do. than the old man comes back and gives the crystal and on to the villige like normal

Ok then put it this way. If your new system is put in, every single Jedi is reset and we all start a Glowy, this way its fair and we all go through this.

mindless grinding is not the answer...both systems blow chunks IMHO...

Totally agree, we need a more interesting way to gain XP. Perhaps a leaf from WoW's books? I mean you can virtuallyfinish you toon there with no mindless grind, ok i know the game sucks, but you get the idea.

I know many many people believed the holo grind was bad. It maid our crafters fighters and our fighters crafters and for several months it hurt our economies some.

HOWEVER

If it were not for the holo grind I would most likely not be playing this game today. You see I got to play other things other than the best template to grind xp and get my Jedi. I got to play 28 other masteries and found ones I enjoyed very much. I did unlock my Jedi on 28 and become what is known to day as pre publish 9 Jedi. But after it was all said and done its nice to play something other than Jedi.

I try to help new players who join the game and see so many of them become FS than paddy only to see them get bored with Jedi and quit. on kauri it seams to always be the same Jedi pvping from what I can see with 90% being pre publish 9 Jedi.

I have talked to others and it seams to me and them that they all found professions in which they could play and have fun other than Jedi during the crazy holo grind. I would of never grinded out riflemen without the holo grind but I love playing it and have had it since before publish 9. I hate crafting but my alt is a master tailor and I enjoy crafting cloths.

Now I do not think holo grind should be the ways again but maybe use a form of the holo grind to get to the village like 4 holos and one of your choosing. Gold holos should be able to be questable. Finnish the quest and the theme parks/poi and the old man will come.

1 this will slow down jedi
2 we will not have complete noobs as jedi
3 soe may keep more customers longer

i disagree. as i have no real solution on how jedi should be obtained the hologrind was too easy i did 28 professions total and i didnt start for a long time as at first i did not want too be jedi.

so i get my first holo i try too see whats next and it is silent at that time i only had 6 professions mastered. then it was on.

grinding professions was too easy all combat i did in just about 1 day or less with the exception of bh that took about 3 days. all the crafting prof. took me 1 day except for merchant that took awhile as i had no help and didnt really know how too do it fast like i do now and arch which took me 73 minutes to master musician took about 3 days and if i had the help i wanted/needed it would have been less.

so out of the 22 professions i did after my first and only holo i did 15 of 22 professions between pub 9 and 10 with no unlock imagine if i actually persued jedi from the beginning.

Hologrind ruined this game. I remember the day when I actually saw people in places like Vreni Island.

Ok...

Currently you need to get about 208 million weapon xp to get your Jedi (including combat xp)

If you talk about grinding through all regular professions, the weapon xp you need to grind all combat masterbadges is 51 million xp (and that also gives you all the combat xp you need).

If you grind through all professions you can do the following AFK:

16082950 Entertainer
6588000 Crafting

3199000Scouting
18000Surveying
405000Merchant

You can get your Politician on the side while grinding:
74000Political

So the only thing you actually need to do at the keyboard is:

441000ImageDesigner
5900000CreatureHandling
1316000Trapping
170000DNASampling
34000BountyHunter

Ofcourse, if you are lucky you get your five in 10 badges.

Bottom line:

Hologrinding is easier!

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

Yeah need slow it down. I would sayhave people dothe holo grind and glowy system and then still have them go through the village. The holo system might not take as long as it did in past but at least it would make part of getting Jedi random again.

I hate Gungans, I hate Ewoks and I hate Jawas....so why am I a Rebel you ask? It is my overriding hate of the MAN !!!

Pre CU Jedi and Day 2 Vet since the game didnt work on day one.

I actually enjoyed my holo grind.

Musician and dancer - I chatted more those 2 weeks with people that I never met before than I ever have.

Architect - I burned through every credit I had just to get the resources together to do the crafting. Even then I was borrowing a number of harvesters to bring up my own ore so I could save some $$.

Bounty Hunter - I just qualified to hunt jedi, did one hunt and died only for jedi missions to get bugged the next day on a publish (6 maybe). But it gave me the thirst so I made my extra toon a BH just so I could hunt rebel jedi.

Commando - torching Ewoks...for some reason I enjoyed that.... mmmm...toasted ewok

I was one of those people who unlocked in between publish 9 and 10. It was on profession #25. I finished fencer the night before P10 went live and I unlocked. The only part that I did with the village was the old man stuff, picked my FS boxes and killed Mel.

Anyways, I like to see some sort of hybrid system as well. If nothing else, it'll give these new wannabe jedi something different to do other than repetitive trips to the village to hand in xp for fs xp.

sorry but i don't think they should being back holo grind, I think they should get take out grinding completely and make it so the only way to get xp for your prof. is to do quest based on that prof. Grinding is boring and no fun what so ever. hell if it was up to me i would remove the mission terms altogether.
