allways wondered does the BH show up as a red dot on radar? or only after they attack.

more than just sl, hte ai changes (pve nerf) is there, anthing 80ish is resistant to snare / root. the action cost for anything med related (takes 45% action to throw poison/fire/disease on tc). does anyone have a jed there and actually test this?

How long (approximately) do we have left until a snare is applied for Force Cloak? Are we talking a few months or a matter of 2-3 weeks?

A BH came for me last night while we were out grinding. He was spotted in time so I was able to distance myself from the lair and Cloak before he closed the distance and attacked. At first we were unsure who he was coming for. (I don't use the /duel, /endduel method to check... spamming other players with that isn't cool). After a few minutes of waiting, he made his move and walked over to where I was (I was still standing away from the main group). I then moved around a little, and sure enough he stuck with me. OK, so that was enough proof that I was his target.

As I'm not full template yet and am missing 2 key skill boxes, I opted to run away rather than stand and fight. Force Cloak combined with Force Run allowed me to do this. Clearly this will not be possible once the Cloak Nerf hits. When the Cloak Nerf hits, I can still Cloak but my understanding is I won't be able to get away... a BH can just stick with me and wait until my Force pool drains. Force Run would be overridden by the Cloak snare (is this correct?). I'm sure Burst Run would be overridden as well (besides any BH worth his salt could outlast my Burst Run any day of the week).

So, I'm basically asking how much time I have left before I must finish my template and be able to stand and fight, as my options to run away will be... limited.

Thanks!

I know this doesnt answer your question completely and may sound defeatist, but IMO you should've just fought the BH and got back to grinding. Avoiding one BH only means more are coming. At that point not only are you interupting your grind but the grind of the group members. Plus every new BH is potential Visfor the rest of your group. Worse case scenario some paddt-whacker talks a little trash after killing you and throws you into the "Jedi I killed" bio. Even if you lost the full 400+K of xp your talking two hours to regrind wich saves you more time in the long run because you cant hide forever.

Or killing the BH (and therefore fighting an ungrouped, mostly opposite faction PLAYER) gives u a visibility you cant even dream of...

If you kill this BH, be VERY sure to get revisited SOON.

I saw exactly this, while i was leading a spin group (im pre-9). The first two BHs where killed by the groupmemeber, which gave him an exploding vis.

It doesnt took 10 minutes and 3 of the SAME GUILD BHs chased the Jedi then, so he must have hit the terms on page one with a "nice price"-sticker after his two kills.

So either you are a finished template and you can afford to kill the BHs (you are obv. NOT finished when grinding) or you better run/hide and avoid raising visi due to a fight (where the only way to get OFF the terms is dying).

Always two sides (at least) to look at it...

I know but I believe he was referring to the ranger/cloak change.

Ok, just incase you guys/gals didn't know this Cloak change was going to be done with the ranger revamp. Devs have stated that revamp will be at the earliest December and more than likely next year. They can't change Cloak until the Ranger fixes come in because the Cloak changes are based on that new system.

Plenty of time to finish your template. Besides from what I understand the change (as it's stated now) would actually benefit you more since a BH would not be able to follow or track by droid. Doesn't matter if you're snared, from the sounds of it the skill can only be used in this manner....definetly not a first strike skill with a snare. Something in the back of my head is telling me that Cloak will probably not work while you are fighting....call me crazy but I can see that being the next announcedchange. But as I said, we have a long time before this revamp is in game.

as far as the tracking option the way i read it the bh wont be able too /follow (jedi name) they will still be able too track you using your droids

Pure escapers will still be able to use cloak to escape. Yes, they might still be able to follow you, but remember the tef only lasts 2.5 minutes. Just have a friend drop a house, or walk with your snare to your house. The tef will wear off and with channel (if he's /following you) just walk inside your private house.

Channel will break cloak with the proposed changes, just fyi.

Devs stated in a previous post that no one will be able to /follow you nor will a BH be able to track you with their droid. I think it was Blix that said it but I do remember specifically stating droids will not be able to track you.

Actually we're not sure what exactly will break cloak, we've been told in a very general non-descriptive way. (I'd assume it would tho) But then in point you got holos as well. /shrug A bh, swoop, and droid take about 5 minutes to drain my force so that's more than enough though

Hey gang,

Thanks for the replies.

Regarding the suggestion that it would've been best to let the BH kill me so the group wouldn't have been inconvenienced, its just not my style to lay down and give up. If I come out of cloak it means I'll fight to the best of my ability (for whatever THAT'S worth, lol). I have Healer 4000, Spiced Tea, decent BE clothing, Aura, and enough stim Ds and Ruby Bliel that perhaps I could've drug the fight on longer than the 8-10 minute delay the group experienced.

If I pass up the guild trips to the Avatar and Corvette, in 3 weeks I'll be totally off the terminals. In the meantime, I can continue employing the "cloak & run" tactic as long as I stay aware of my surroundings, etc.

This doesn't address my fundamental question, though. My playstyle and schedule isn't of the "go from Initiate to full template in just 3 weeks" variety. I've come a long way but I still have about 11 Million XP to go. My concern is if the Devs decide to nerf Cloak ahead of the Ranger revamp and time it with the RoTW release, I could be hosed.

I'm not complaining... there's another thread for that. I'm just asking for a general timeline here.
