Thread: Somebody tells you ... Personal Message
Got the same thing few weeks back. I ignored it as it has happened to others..
maybe yer supposed to respond in spactial and end up looking like a schitzo talking to himself.

Exploit, I'm not sure if it's an exploit, but it is a bug. I really can't figure out a good reason to do it, but I suppose someone will figure out how to exploit it to their gain.
I can't condone providing stuff that's potententally an exploit to anyone, weather I think it's useful or not.
I will grab a friend and try that 'exploit' though to see if that's how the "somebody tells you ..." thing comes to be.
I was talking to a friend as "somebody" after i was dead and cloned, but warpad back to my dieing place.
Your all wrong sad to say... what it is i somewhat what poeple have said on the reply's below... its the chat server messing up... its someone you know but to find out you have to reply with /r *message* and tell the person to add his name in the message so you know who it is... also if you do a /tell somebody he will get a message back as if you did the /r methode..
Its no jedi trick or nothing like that.. its not a bug its just something that needs fixing in the chat servers only....
As for the invisible trick its not an exploit but i do know how to recreate it.. but since im bound to the EULA i cannot reveal this jedi tactic .. =)
Ive reported it and let the devs fix it.. theyll get around to in eventually..
The tells from "Somebody" are bugs. It used to happen in beta quite often. My friends would later tell me, "why didn't you respond to my /tells?".

It was a /tell.
It literally says:
Somebody tells you "...".
In my message box. I think we tracked it down though, and it's a false lead on the whole Jedi thing. If there's a server split, it can't check who sent it, so just notifies you that you got the message.
