This game in inconsistant and unbalanced....the last thing we need is90% of the population to become a bh and start exploiting the unbalanced combat in this game. once it gets fixed it will be the bhs turn to cancel their accountwhile they cry on the forums about how they got gimped and no one cares. And if it wasn't for thebalance issues in this game we might have some decent lootrather thanpretty pictures and holograms.

NOw to try and get back to that I've completly dropped ENtertainer and taken up BH.. because now I have ot make it topadwan to get my 2nd slot.. then I can have a combat char (will not take it to jedi just to 2nd slot) then I will have 2 aspecs of the same character. One a combatant the other a Pure Entertainer.. Don't owrry though I don't do PVP so I won't hunt your Jedi.

I still say Pre CU is better. adn teh way teh Devs hadnled it was wrong because they catered to one aspected of teh game and pretty much screwed everyone else..

and I agree with this comment by Winicompletly....

The game is exactly going where DEVs or the management want, so dont try to find excuses for them, SOE screwed it up hardcore... and God knows if they can fix it.

I used to be one of those people, for a long time i didn't want to be one. But as my friend pointed out way back before the CU, to be competive in pvp you're going to HAVE to go jedi.

There were things I liked better pre CU, but ultimately destroying MIND was the only viable way to win.

If the Devs finish tweaking the balance (what is causing all these people to cry nerf) i think you will find that the game is much more diverse in terms of templates and play styles.

tweaking teh balance.. maybe for your precious Jedi but for the rest of us the CU in my oppinion is still a disaster. The old system needed work but could have been fixed.. this.. well this hasn't lived up to ANY claims that have been made aboutit. ALl teh BS that people pulled before that they were trying to stop is still goig on. All they've done is push mroe and more people to go for Jedi and left teh casual gamers in teh dust.

as for mind.. in any game if you ifind the weakness and exploit it you win.. mind was it here.. all you had to do was mkae it so that mind could be healed alongside health and action adn you sealed the mindhole. Then it's not the weakest link anymore and what everyone targst.

Why do people always blame the village for the current Jedi Population? Its a myth totally if you ask me, even with the old Holo Grind we would be in this very same situation now. Holo Grind was not time limited like the Village and it was pretty straight forward really, you just ground out your holo proffession's one after the other and then hoped you got lucky on your silent ones. In fact if you knew what you were doing and got lucky you could easily unlock sooner than any of the Village Jedi could.

You're right AND wrong in a couple of ways.

Overall, having Jedi be a path that was unknown was a MUCH better solution. Even better, having many DIFFERENT (Randomly generated at character creation) paths would have been the best solution. Such as:

  • One path would be to kill X number of Thugs

  • One path would be to get a PvP rating over 1800

  • One path would be to be a Rebel, and kill X number of Stormtroopers

  • One path would be to be Imperial and kill X number of Rebels.

And so on - The key would be that nobody would EVER "know" what path would be their key to being Jedi.

But once the path - ANY path - was known, it was a matter of time before those that wanted to be Jedi would use it. Village or Holgrind - KNOWING how to walk down a path leads to many walking down it.

Phael'yn Maxlord
- I support Common Sense - Too bad it's in short supply.

Quote that sums up the current, flawed direction of SWG:
"No, I do everything solo and I see no reason why I should need anyone else"

A way to bring Combatant and Crafter together.

It is a problem that only about 1 in 3 Jedi ever quits. Even if the player quits much of time they either sell their Jedi, give it to their friend or in some cases just give it to their guild. So the Jedi profession just grows exponentially.

Yeah, I agree.

I think it's obvious alpha classes just don't work in multiplayer games in general, but in this case the population of jedi has kind of blown it out of proportion. Anyway, as I see itto consolidate the jedi population with their relative "power" level, the devswouldeither have to:

a) Nerf jedi down toa power level which would appropriately reflect their population, or

b) Completely remove jedi from the GCW, happenings of non-jedi, and enforce it harshly with things like Saber TEF, Skillbox loss, lvl 500 NPC BHs spawning ontop of jedi when they get an ounce of vis, etc; and give them a light vs. dark FRS in the middle of nowhere on Yavin or something.

I'm not convinced option b) would work, but, at least in my opinion, it'd be ideal, since it ties into the timeline and mythos... but with the way people are, I just have serious doubts as to whether or not it'd work out.

The CU has made some professions more viable, there are actually more pistoleers and carbineers besides just riflemen. Not needing buffs to leave your house is nice too. I do agree with you about adding mind heals, would have been good way to fix the problem.

Overall I like the CU, but if they just had left damage types/resists in the game, and not introduced the level system i think it would have been a huge success and hugely popular. They also did a horrible job with melee weapons, crafting them well post CU is almost impossible. But i think that may have been to steer people towards ranged and increase the "star wars" feel of the game.

I agree the level system in teh wosrt part of it.. taht dfefintly needs to vamooseadn I think that is waht I detest the most. ALso think they need to fix Melee a biut asi preferred that. Nothing more fun that being in a group and landig on my but after getting it handed to my by a krayt but fighting him before he flattened me was a blast.. all teh joy is gone..
