correction the game "had" so much more potential, until the oh so wonderful CU killed it.

All they had to do was take us out of the GCW, we already had our FRS and we were happy with that.
Just lower the armor rating of composite a bit and bring up other armor to add variety.
Dots were fine, just pvp with a doc, thats what they were there for.
And maybe lower doc buffs just a bit, but if the armor wasnt so good the buffs would be ok as they were.

That would have pretty much fixed the game instead of screwing the whole thing up

No, you can never have a game that is fine when Wookiee's are the weakest class at melee range, just becouse they are less "smart" and therefore have a smaller blue healthbar.

Someone said it nicely on another thread...


The game was flawed from the beginning. Regardless of tweaks, the game required so many tweaks and fixes at once, that it would remake the entire game. And that's what they did.

Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

There are more stuff playable now than pre-cu, but I am not the greatest fan of the direction SoE have taken the game since the CU.

2yrs and less than 500,000 accounts..compared to WoW 1 1/2 years 4million accounts...something is definitely wrong...Star Wars has way more PR than WoW.........just my thought../flameon







Less than 250,000 accounts actually.


Out of EQ, EQ2 and SW:G. EQ still holds the most subscribers.


WoW holds more subscribers than all of SOE's games combined.

Yep, it plagues every game. The more flawed the coding is in the beginning, the more issues the game will have over it's lifetime.


Most of the bugs we have in SW:G have been recycled since launch. The developers have never been able to get rid of most of the major bugs permanently.


They couldn't even make the Wookie Trail changes stick. And every few months it'll revert whenever they screw with the mobs.


Just like rubberbanding. Mission terminal bugs. Healthbars not updating in groups. Players you can't see in groups. etc. etc. All of it has been around since Beta.


SW:G was flawed from the beginning, and will be flawed until it dies. I seriously doubt they'll spend the kind of cash it would take to really fix this game, or they would have done it by now.



Hell even EA poured out a crapload of $$$ to rewrite Ultima Online from the ground up to give it more expandability and so that it was more stable and had less lag. (they did a good job of it too.)


It's not getting any better than it is now.

Potential, the definition speaks for itself. Where is it in this game is a different matter. After playing the game this weekend with all the SL buffs on my alt Mdoc/Mrifleman., it was an eye opener for sure. All I did was stay in the prone position 50m away from lair and timed my sniper shot.Damage was outrageous, and I was using a fast firing krayt enhanced DXR6b Disruptor. Oh and I wasn't wearing any armor. So the potential for increased damage with SL buffs is there. It just about negates the need doc buffs.


As far as jedi goes, I would expect that SL buffs would work for them as well. But since the balance has gone to the ranged players, it appears the only thing that would helpa grouped jedi is the speed, until it is debuffed. So the potential, as it were for ranged is there. Melee classes including jedi is on the short end of the balance scale.


Strategic play is of the highest order as a jedi, or any other character for that matter. One needs to have a decent plan and crew to work with. If you don't have that you are setting yourself up for a fall. I enjoy the game andthechallenge it offers by playing smart. I only use my jedi when I want good high end content. I play my rifleman and bh toons when I want to decimate mobs. And I play my crafter when I want to make weapons just about equal to loot dropped weapons. Yeah I can do that too.
