There are more stuff playable now than pre-cu, but I am not the greatest fan of the direction SoE have taken the game since the CU.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

2yrs and less than 500,000 accounts..compared to WoW 1 1/2 years 4million accounts...something is definitely wrong...Star Wars has way more PR than WoW.........just my thought../flameon

are we there yet?

Yes it does

No it won't get better.

They don't care if jedi stay or go, the new blood keeps their pockets full. It is better if alot of jedi quit then the new players won't feel so overwhelmed.

No it isn't far to jedi.

We bustedour buttsto get basicly some cool graphic effects that aren't really effective.

Get over yourself. The average score in magazines when SWG was released was no higher than7.2.

The average score of WoW was 9.2.

Regardless what you liked "back then" doesnt change the fact that the game sucked from release date and have sucked ever since. We only play it becouse it's starwars.

"Bugs, bugs, and more bugs; poor customer service; premium price; bad controls; lack of content; imbalanced classes; creatures and quests."

01/04/2004, Gamer God

"Combat is missing quite a lot compared to other games in which it involves basic zerg tactics of shoot and run, yet no other interaction between the target takes place."

"Professions are technically defined but for the most part everyone can do the same basic actions and usually do by buying only the best skills creating an element that every character is similar in abilities with no clear roles in groups."

"Content, barring the diverse LOOKING wildlife and the occasional POI related difficult creature, there is none. No reason to play this game long term."

"You can spend a lot of time in the game, learn skills and amass riches, even become a Jedi. But what do you do then that you weren't doing the week you bought the game. The game is only a sandbox in which you have to make your own fun, find your own purpose, develop your own reasons to continue on, which is very hard to do without challenges beyond those that don't take the most simplistic tactics to overcome. This game has it all otherwise, envelope pushing AI, graphics, crafting system, and a user interface which sets a new standard. It just lacks a reason to enjoy them beyond the time it takes you to explore the game for a couple of months. I would love to be able to recommend this game to my fellow gamers but I simply can not do so at this time. This game needs a long maturation period."

i agree with you msnil..but to some people the precu was great...i have seen the polls on swg since it came out and they have never really been high at all....you know whats funny..a game that has 70,000 accounts right now is beating wow (Eve-Online) in polls...and if you were to go play that game you'd notice the reason people are happy is because 1. none to hardly any bugs 2. great customer support (i have experienced their support) 3. they upgrade their hardware to speed up the game to decrease lag....they release great content and have good patches..the other day the devs just popped in the main chat rooms and was just talking with us..wanting to know how we like the server upgrades.....imo it starts with a finished product, tested and retested...then a great development team and customer service keeps the accounts coming...in which swg has lacked in all these areas...that game will most likely keep increasing in accounts and have a very very solid customer base...problem with swg is that the changes and lack of support turn away their bread and butter..the people that stay here..there are a lot of accounts that are activated and lately it seems they come...stay for a month or two and leave..but the veterans that have given a lot of time into the game are leaving....and has been this way since the CU....

Oh get over yourself! You speak as if you are the voice of the SWG community. You should bite your tongue. Just because you're a big hater and cant enjoy the game, doesnt mean you have to squash what little happiness we remember from the times when this game didnt suck. I'm sure at one time in the game you enjoyed playing didnt you? So why do you have to rain on everyone's parade?

Eve-Online is built to be good. It's a world that is foreign to most players, therefore they can only earn players through having a really really good game.

Star Wars Galaxies attracts players on it's license... Regardless how awful they will treat this product, people still continues to play. Ofcourse, they COULD have passed WoW in amount of playersif they wanted to... But they are more concerned about making their other games working, those that does require a good game to bring in the money.

It's sad the management doesnt realise what they could have.

I just tell you what your real-life friends most likely told you when you started to play the game. What every quitter have told you before they left you behind. This game always sucked. Mind just have a fine way of polishing old memories from all the bad stuff.

I really enjoyed this game for 1-2 months, mostly becouse I gave it a real chance. There have been moments that the game have been alot of fun, such as when we can gather all friends and do something together... but like 95% of my guild have quit.

So you have been playing this game for what two years just because it was Star Wars ? Honestly I doubt I would be playing this game if I had joined post-cu, pre-cu was not perfect but at least I enjoyed it more than hated.

I started to play the game becouse it was Star Wars. Now I play it for friends.

I have friends who would have stayed if they started post-cu. Most of my real-lifefriends quit earlydue to sologroups and lack of content.

Had they started to play the game now there would have been much more for them to do, and they could do it together with people now, and that makes the game to what a mmo should be.

I have very few friends left in-game. Most have quit due to lack of content. Once they all quit I will go as well.

This game reminds me of the prequel movies. Moments of brilliance, but with a looming negative feeling of how much better it coulda/shoulda been. The devs pulled a few too many "JarJars".

Well maybe it's different for those of us who started at launch. That was back when no one knew what they were doing and certainly grouped together. It was a very interesting game back then. I remember organizing unorganized raids from moenia to theed. I would just yell for people to group up and end up having 3 full groups (was a lot more than 24 people...) Hardly any people were novice in an elite class but yet some were. We'd get there and kill a bunch of imps but then everyone would start to seperate and get picked off. It was so funny watching a CH with a humbaba massacre all of moenia with their 200-400+ rebels running around. It was hilarious. I also have memories of being in groups of 6-10 people attacking a kreetle lair. They would slaughter us. God this game had many great times. Mostly at its very beginning. It did later slow down when people started templating though, I will admit. Although, at least I could enjoy fast-paced fun PvP. I enjoyed DOT's, Ranged, CM's Mind poisons ticking for over 1000 damage (and believe me, i was always on the recieving end of this with no Doc), Melee Stackers, and Uber Jedi. It was "simple" as they said but maybe that's what made it fun. IMO it took more of a brain than this did. Oh well... Toast to better days of SWG in the for the future...
