I find it hard to believe that jedi will become a starting profession. It doesn't make sense as it is a good way to keep people playing and paying for 6-12 months. What other content in the game spans that long?
and it won't apeal to a Star Wars fan, soon as they fire up thier lightsaber they'llrelease, and then realisethey're not playing a Jedi.... log off.....uninstall game..... back down the shop...... refund please!

Well at long last the cat seems to be out the bag. Tiggs & SOE are miss-leading us, SWG is getting a reboot. Despite denials from SOE the box art is out for the starter kit, the game description has stated that there will be major changes revamp of 30 new levels etc. Now the one main thing emerging from this info is nowhere are SOE mentioned. Now before some player who is an SOE brown nose starts there defence of SOE consider the rumors that have flying through the forums concerning major changes to the game, such as no melee professions & no grinding. While the advert has stated that there will be a revamp of the first 30 levels, this would tie-in with the rumors that have been circulating.
I do believe that Lucas arts will make an annoucement shortly concerning a take over of the game by them. This is something that has been circulating in the games press for sometime. If this does happen then it will be the end of SOE's involvement. This is something that I would welcome.
As for the saddo brown noses who have posted there usual SOE are great crap, well guys wake up & smell the coffee SOE may shortly be history in the game. You're in denial of this information stop deluding yourself. SWG has major changes coming to it hopefully for the better! I will not reply to any post on this thread from those who support SOE & claim the starter kit is a hoax. The cat is out of the bag SWG is a getting a reboot for the better!

the starter kit is for PS2 and X-box
No it's not it is for the PC which is clearly stated in the advert, apart from that you're way wrong, do you really think they would launch a game for two consoles that become obsolete this year & next year. Yeah, good one, LA are going to develop a game for two consoles that are about to get superceded by their upgrades. Wake up & smell the coffee!

Getting started in this game is very hard in the current system.
100% pure grade A bull.
When newbs can be fully templated 'normal' professions in 2 days?
Be millionaires within 2-3 weeks?
When they can go from FS to unlocking in 18 weeks?
Get fully templated Jedi in another 2 weeks?
I know and know of people that have done ever one of the things listed there.
This game is so easy its a joke.
If you know people to help it is easy. Try starting a new toon on a server where you don't know anyone and getting into a group to XP. Not very easy. Groups hate noobs.

Dude, I have many toons on many servers. It IS rediculously easy. If you honestly think this is hard, you woulnd't last 30 minutes in another MMO. I played Anarchy Online for a while, in a months time I didn't even get close to a 1/10th of where you can get in SWG. EQ2? Pfft Been playing on and off for about 2 months, probably 10 days total dedicated to that game alone, 1 toon has just gotten to lvl 19. Anybody that can't THRIVE in this game should be embarrassed. They have dumbed it down and made it easy. Really unless you came from Tiny Toons Online, this game is so easy to level its a joke.

the starter kit was false information given to 1 or 2 ccompanies which spread out. as for lucasarts taking over, say good bye to swg if they do. lucasarts CANNOT make a good or even fairly good game to save themselves.
if they took over which they cannot do since swg belongs to SOE, lucasarts only grants soe the star wars licence
This is only a problem if there aren't a million and one noobs running around Eisley as SoE has been keen upon telling us, who can then group up and xp on their own. So, it'll take them a week to level up instead of two days. Lol.

LucasArts is already in charge of this game. SOE only does the leg work.
try the other way around. soe have free reign over swg, but anything they insert like a star wars character or ship etc, has to be approved by lucasarts.
even the inclusion of jedi back in '03 was approved by LA. including all system changes since then

SOE can't do whatever they want with the game, everything has to be approved by Lucas Arts. LA tells SOE what to do and then SOE does it to satisfaction. LA is in charge of the game; SOE just makes it/makes sure it works.
