Thread: Baciacca , a question about force.........

I agree Force does make our profession double taxed.

I have said for months, Sabers shouldnt take force to use. I dont mind using force to use a heal or using force to use lightning,choke,Suppression...Etc...etc... But if you take Force cost away from sabers i think it will really balance this out.

Just my opinion.

You can support the NGE all you want, even the captain of the Titanic felt his ship was unsinkable.

I agree that there are some double-taxing costs for our abilities, but I want to point out that Force regen is broken ATM, there is supposedly a fix coming with Publish 24.

You can find it here, scroll down to Jedi profession.

Profession: Jedi

  • Jedi Force Regeneration should be working correctly in conjunction with enhancement items.

"In conjunction with Enhancment Items"

Meaning the Robes mod's are goin to work"be fixed"giving us +10 to Regen. The Main Force Regen isnt broke.

Message Edited by VexxVipre on 09-24-2005 03:49 PM

Yes it is broke! It takes me 13-15 seconds to regen one point of force, that is broken.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but without being familiar with your template I can only think that your toonmight be bugged.

I regen force at about 5 points every second, or so, without wearing robes. I'm still grinding my way along, but my current template gives me +44 innate force regeneration.

If your force regen rate, without robes, iseven close to that, but your actual regenerationis as bad as you described, I would open a ticket. It may not do any good, but at least you'll have done what you could.

If it is the case that my toon is bugged, then many are! I had a thread here about two weeks ago where others claimed to have the same 'bug'. Now, if this repeatable cross-server, for differing templates, then it would tend to validate the assumption that force regen is broken. I haven't tested this in a week or so, perhaps it has been corrected.

I don't deny the possibility than many people's toons are bugged. I'm just pointing out the fact that I have not personally experienced this regen issue. I don't know why my toon regenerates forceat 5 pts/sec, but she does.

/shrug

I wonder if Publish 24 will fix it for everyone else, and bug my toon?

I have to agree with Delan on this, I haven't tested it yet to see exactly how slowly it is regenning naturally, butI will now. A good example of how slowly I am regenning is, I was doing Necrosis the other day with some buddies and after you kill him one time you have to wait 30 min to do the quest again so I didn't channel and I went to cook dinner for my kids and come back 30 min later thinking my force would be back, Wrong. My force was still at like 40 percent. So even after sitting for 30 min I still had to make my friends who had already waited for 30 min, wait for me to channel force. To me the regen rate is waaaaaaaaaaaay to slow and is disruptive to the rest of the players too, IMO.

I totally agree, why should we have such a long regen time where others can sit for 30 seconds and be back to full health, full mind and action. This makes no sense for such an elite professions to be soo vunerable. Ive tested things and its bad enough that after so many heals a jedi mind is gone, even though he might still be at 60% force, he is doomed cause he cant heal. Healing should not cost us both force and mind.

and also, yes, sabers are a melee skill. Maybe things like saber throw, dervish, should havea force cost cause those are a different kind of skill. Ive got a pretty decent saber, my force cost is only 11, but even tanking a small lair of lvl 30 or 40s, or taking on a group of 10 lvl 25 stromies can do a number on your force.

i dont want unlimited force. i dont want to fight forever. I dont want to be able to kill everything in 2 blows. But the is obviously an inbalance when it comes to force cost and regen. Maybe connect force regen with wounds ( and i would say BF if it was still in game ). I can see a weakened body having an effect on the Jedis regen.

A jedis force should also be connected to the planet he is on. Things like kash, dant, dath , endor.....the force should drain less slowly from a jedi. These planets are more dense with life forms and a jedi draws his strength from the force as we know , so it should flow more easily. Planets like Lok, Corellia, Naboo, and such, should have the reverse effect and make jedi regen more slowly cause there are less planet life forms around for a jedi to draw his strength upon.

id just like to see some sort of balance when it comes to force regen and cost with sabers.

BF is still in the game. I can easily get it as an artisan while sampling radioactives. Just takes 2 minutes to get 1000 BF, but that doesn't mean its not still in the game. Just some magical pixie thats invisible heals it after a while.

How can you say you've lived life if you've never danced?
Well I do remember Han having a one piece suit made out of carbonite but it weighed a ton. Still it didnt require any ironing and was very wear resistant.
Thanks SOE! The CU and NGE gave me my life back. Thanks! Bitterness is the taste of love lost, a tear of acid that burns the heart.
Long gone, in sorrow of song. Stand I make to deliver hope with twisted temporal past, for the ripples in time distort what affects when. Prowlies a must see Clicky!
As a dreamer I sing to the sea and imagine the possibilities and potential this game could free, but when I get home a sad sight there be. A lost fool, for once was is gone, what could've been to never be, and the angel of my heart to be forgotten, locked away by the key of SOE.

Anyone else notice this? the rest of the group is ready to rock but the jedi pips up and says to wait a minute, need to regen force?

So a jedi has to sit for several minutes to regen force
normal professions have to sit for a few seconds to regen action/mind

Guess if you work for SOE you can see that logic

I agree. Kinda seems odd that a PvP role/profession is so gimped in such a way. Why should I have to fight a BH who can just sit for 5 seconds and then be back up ready to fight when all of my skills use force that takes 20 minutes to regen?

Why would SOE do something so contradictory? It almost seem they want all Jedi to lose.

here is hte issue, pvp wise, if someone can tank me untill i run out of force something is wrong, if i am to have this "long term limiter" i need to be alot more effective than a non jedi while i have a full bar.

We either need more force or a faster regen. And the ability to do more damage.

Is that a serious question?

Consider: some of the "top" SWG developers (i.e., those influentialin the decision-making process) have been opposed to player Jedi being in-game from the very beginning. Then we have this seemingly never-ending cycle of nerfs, all in the name of a "balance" that I just don't believe can ever be achieved. Especially since each "ravamp", "upgrade" and expansion brings with it a host of new bugs and changes that unbalance things yet again. SOE is caught in a vicious little nerf cycle of their own making, primarily because of short-sighted planning on the part of the SWG designers. (I smell a distinct lack of communication and cohesion within the SWG dev team.)

I'm sorry to say it, but I became convinced a long time ago that some elements within SOE would be very gratified to see people stop playing their Jedi characters completely, if not outright delete them. Worse still, they have a lot of company from the player-base, many of whom "wet" themselves every time they hear about the newest nerf to a Jedi-related skill.

A lot of Jedi players may be guilty of "calling for the nerf bat," but we are the only set of players in this game that hears thunderous, rapturousapplause for the devs from the rest of the player base every time we get hit with that bat.
