Thread: When was the last time a bounty hunter came for you and how did it make you feel?

Before even entering the Jedi profession, you KNEW that it wasn't going to be NONconsentual PvP, you KNEW you'd be hunted, and you KNEW there was possibility of death. You accepted this hiderance, to weild the power you do. If you didn't want it, you shouldn't have chosen to become a Jedi.
(Edit: Yeah...ment to say nonconsentual)
Either way, I personally love PvP, always have...maybe it comes from me playing Ultima Online wayback, when the game was new, where there wasn't such a thing as consentual PvP.
The thrill that I could be being tracked down at any time, and fired upon, I enjoy. *shrugs* Maybe thats just me.

That is what is wrong with your post. Jedi were in the game before BH could hunt them. And that's what this entire thread is talking about.

I don't mind BHs hunting me, but I do when it's more than once a day. I'm not paid to beBH content. I get nothing when I kill every single one of you. 
All I want is 24-hour immunity from the terminals when I kill the next unlucky BH to get my mission!
At the rate it's going, I expect blue glowy status for x hours after a Vader kill. It's generating too much heat and has been getting worse rather than better. Now add in the exploits on both sides determine to kill or not be killed and you have a recipe for something that's chewing up more resources than it's worth.
Will it happen, maybe. I'm not counting on it myself, but since the devs like taking the easy way out, this new BH loot system may be the pie to get them to accept it. They've already moved the target once from Inv4 to MBH, it won't take much to remove it further.
It's either that or I see a reverse coming in for BH to give them something to worry about.

What is this power you speak of? Oh, you must mean the power we have when a single swordsman/doc/tka with a droidcan tank 5 Jedi for 5 minutes.

That's not how I remember it... ever since beta 3 bounty hunters have been drooling over the day the first Jedi unlocked, knowing they would get to hunt them. They even wanted other players put on the terminals before there were any Jedi, because they demanded their 'content.'
I like it, initially, when BH's come for me. I think "Alright, here we go..." - excited to have a no-holds-bar, one on one challege. It's followed about a minute later by frustration. Not by my lack of tactics or what not, but because the glaring weakness of my character becomes apparent.
I can't do enough dmg to him, he ended up having 8K energy resist armor (which is the same as 80% or so before the CU), armor break resistant as well. He had a droid, and he was healing for more than I was. Even after I killed his droid, seperated the two, he was still healing as well as I was and he was not even a MCM. He would have flat out beat me, had I not had my 2k health crystal. Even then it was at a standstill cause I ran out of force, and he somehow killed my mind.
FR3/Stasis run away.
Going over what I could have done differently, the only thing I know I can do is I need a better damn saber, and to carry a holocron on me at all times (didn't have one at the time). Thing is I've tuned hundreds of post-CU pearls and crystals with no luck, I enjoy my template and against Jedi I can hold my own. The frustration comes from that there isn't anything else I can really do to improve my character. Until the pearl situation is fixed or something changes with the healing or armor, I'll be playing my alt more. I don't like playing in unwinnable situations.

But is your non-consentual PvP against Swordsman/Doc/TKA? No, Don't think so. If you don't want to be a part of the GCW, where you fight tepmplates such as that, then don't. You have a choice. Thats consentual.
As I said as well, you also had the choice, to stay in the normal professions, or become a Jedi. You made the choice, and you accepted the consequences that come along with it. Your choice. PvP is no longer consentual in regards to Bounty Hunters and you. Thats the freedom and Safety you gave up. Fact.
I have nothing against being hunted by BHs. I accept that and I knew it would happen before I became Jedi. My only beef is that there is zero reward for winning. That just makes the experience annoying. If they can't give us credits or experience because it could be exploited, then why not give us a break from being hunted? It's the least they could do. With anonymous missions, good luck getting a friend to pull your mission, lettingyou kill him,repeat every day. and keep you off the terms indefinitly. Not going to happen. It couldn't be exploited.
Nope, it's vs a BH/MCM/P usually and they can heal better than I, for less cost than I, plus throw states, poisons, et al.on me, have 8k energy resist armor, and can generally outdamage me too. Now if BH want to give up the reverse, I'll gladly deal with them. Right now it's (at worst) FR and +cloak+ because I'm too busy when I do get to play to be your content.

Well, the Bounty Hunters have found a template that counters Jedi templates, make a template that counters MCM. Most Bounty Hunters have armor with protection against saber damage, go Powers, its Kinetic damage. Tired of Combat Medic? Go 0/0/0/4 Healer.
Theres plenty of options, Yes, some templates are difficuilt to beat, thats why they become FOTM. We came up with MLS/Mdef, they countered with BH/MCM, lets counter again, get our brains working against theirs. Thats half the fun.
