He is giving two options A or B, there is no oh I want power but no perma death. That is the point of his poll can you face up to high consequences like that and get power or not.
I choose B because I don't want to loose the character that I have worked so long on.

The fact is, for perma-death to work they'd have to make the alt-char slot the Jedi toon, and leave the primary toon as a normal character; i.e., like it was pre-Jedi Revamp. Even so, if it's like "three in-game deaths in a week" == perma-death, then you still have a choice of your Jedi not participating in combat after the second death until the count is reset.
Does that mean I'd give up my 1/2 finished alt-char, and have that be my Jedi toon (and a toon that could only learn Jedi skills)? Yes, if it meant that that Jedi would have the power commensurate with the risk.
However, if we're going to keep the current system, it would have to be changed to something like a "temporary death" and/or a complete skill wipe to be a significant risk.

Wow it was a simple A or B question, and you guys are already asking for all the power and none of the consequences. Typical.

A...
But they would have to give you the option to swap skills with the alt since a lot of people have their mains who everyone knows them by as the jedi, while the alt is just an extension of that, and I could deal with having to lose and regrind my alt via permadeath, but not the toon who have been my online persona for 2 years and change now.

I agree completely! Keeping my main is more important to me than going back to another system where I'd have greater power. What I meant to say was that to support a perma-death like it was, all your Jedi skills would have to go to your alt, and all you're alt's skills go to your main. And of course, like the old system, your now-Jedi alt could learn only Jedi skills, not own any structures, etc.
Of course, the insane people out there grinding their alt to be a Jedi, too, won't like that idea at all.
