Its really only $6.50 a gallon in the UK, but our true gas price is not reflected in comparison as tax on petrol here is about 300%...



(Also why can't sony just us PHPbb so we can post with firefox ffs)

I leave in veenzuela to Gas is 10 cents even LESS! if you use economic type of gas and have a small car.
Venezuela has the cheapest gas on world

lol I wouldn't be surprised if that day came. After all, they DID make biodegradable fuel using corn. The name of it escapes me at the moment..

yes it does.. I think the corn fuel is a form of alcohol.. the chemical kind, not drinking kind.. isn't it Ethanol?

In Puerto Rico is 80 cents right now, past week was around 60 cents, but will go Up a lot more.

Gotta love the Canadian government for this. Alberta produces a lot of oil and cereal. Cereal is also very important because it's used to make beer, but that's another story.


We produce enough oil in alberta and in the central provinces to be self-suficient (spelling?). Meaning we COULD have really cheap gas here in Canada if we kept it for our own needs. But *no*, we sell it all to the US and other prople i'm not sure, and we buy what we need to use ourselvs. That way, the governement makes money selling the oil, makes money taxing the imports back, and taxes again when we buy it at the pump.


I feel like doing some math here, just for fun. Gas is taxed at close to 45% here, it's added to the price of the gas so it's half hidden. That means that 1$'s worth of oil costs me 1.45$. To have 1.45$ in my pocket, after all the income tax has been deducted from my salary, I need to earn 3.37$.


So, when I fillup my little civic and it costs me 40$, I actually have 11.87$'s worth of product, and 28.13$ in taxes.
