this is true - +25 is the limit for any clothing enhancement. However, I was quoting +50 because both General Melee Speed and 1h/2h/db Lightsabre Speed tapes work for Jedi. if you have +25 in both, you have +50.

Comeon lets see some hard data, I really want to know if speed tapes will neutralize debuffs. This would explain alot as to why some people have no problems with MBH/MCMs.

Unless there has been a stealth fix, modified speed doesn't even work currently for any special but /saberhit, so speed tapes aren't currently doing any lightsaber user any good. This discussion is all conjecture until the other specials are fixed. Unless you want to do all your testing with /saberhit only.
Some jedi do ok against MBH/MCM because their sabers have good damage, low force cost and they are smart enough to use their good saber and wits to conserve force to wait out the CM's mind then kill them. Speed has little if anything to do with it since a master LS is not faster than an LS dabbler.

DPS is the Damage per second
So it's dependant on the dmg of the weapon as well as its speed.
I.e a weapon with max dmg 1000 and speed 2 should in theory do 500dps, but I doubt that numbers work in game.
But a weapon with dmg 500 and speed 1 should do 500dps as well.
But anyway, there is foods u can take to render the CM de-buffs useless and Jedi abilities will help![]()

This is correct if the weapon is 1000-1000 damage, its not based on the max damage, its based on the median damage between the min and max. If the saber is 750-1250 (obviously cant happen, but just go with this) and 1.0 speed THAT would be 1000 dps. In the same manner, if the speed were 2.0 the dps would be 500, see how im getting this? Oh and also, im sick of people saying "I wont list the dps cause i dont care about it/ it doesnt matter." The dps doesnt matter, true, but it is a good way to tell how good a weapon is, in relation to other weapons of the same type. The DPS for a weapon with 300-500 2.0 would be 200, but then a weapon with 100-300 with 1.0 would be the same, so its a little misleading. If the speed didnt cap at 1.0 then these weapons would yield about the same results in combat, ignoring diminishing returns and action/force regen problems of course.

HI folks
I read more than I post on these forums - but a couple of things have stood out that I thought I might enquire about. It seems the general consensus is that due to diminishing returns, doc speed buffs, improved force speed and speed tapes don't really affect someone with a fast sabre and MLS all that much. I was just wondering if they would mitigate the effects of speed debuffs (i.e. thyroid rupture) somewhat.
As I see it, say you had 100 speedand +50 in tapes. Thats a total of 150 speed. Now, from what I understand, 150 ain't so much faster than 100, in fact, its barely noticeable. Certainly without testing, I haven't seen much of a difference with my +40 or so in speed tapes. However, if you have a thyroid rupture on you (-40 I believe) then your actual speed of +60 would be +110 instead - which is a huge difference. This also may help to explain why some Jedi seem to breeze through CMs, and some have real trouble. I've only been in a few fights with MCMs, but I can't say I've noticed much speed decrease with rupture on. Incidentally - the moment a BH attacks, I tend to use AI immediately to give me time to unequip my sabre, take all the crystals out, put em back in and start up again. Otherwise you fight at the speed of a .
Is there something I am missing here? I know the numbers may not be entirely accurate - I'm at work and can't check - but you get the general idea...
Sorry bud, but skill tapes cap at +25.

You get to a point in speed where you can not hit any faster. Try getting your saber to like 1.35 modified speed(with no tapes) then get it down to like 1.25(with tapes and force speed) and you will notice a huge difference. You have just hit a point in speed where you can not get any faster, and dps is meaningless BTW.

The other guy already responded. +25 in whatever saber, +25 general melee speed.
