Thread: Thoughts on the MCM/MBH problem
what tactics are they suppose to use?
i have no problem with mcm/mdoc. powers + a good kinetic rifle does plenty of damage.

So did everyone forget that you can still use stim's? They're made for all different combat levels and I, for one, do not have a problem when I encounter a MCM/MBH.
ForceHeal, Stim, ForceHeal, Stim ...
Na i didnt forget, i jus didnt add them into the mix simply because of the ablity for anyone over CL 64 to use good Stim D's. I also didnt add in the fact that at the moment, Stims have a bug. They can be used by anyone to heal while they are KDed. If you have someone on their back not KDrecovering b/c of low action, then they stand up, then fall right back down, that is them using a Stimpack while KD.
QFE.... And no with a saber like that you cannot win.. Unless you fighting a yogurt who can't pvp. I'm in the same boat as you so I too feel kinda cheated out of equal playing field.

The problem is here
Combat Medic Heals > Jedi Damage
That is not equal to "nerf combat medics", it could also mean fix saber damage, or just adjust mind cost associated to a CM's heals. After all, they aren't docs.
I saw Anjon (a very powerfull and respected MCM/MBH) fight a guildy of mine. The Jedi has all crystals above 110 damage, and -7, -8 and -9 FC on all of them. Overall a very powerfull pre-CU saber with a force cost of about 10. In short, a better saber than all post-CU Jedi can never have. Sure, after a long time, we get a chance of getting 4 great tunes, but it takes a lot of time, and a pre-cu saber will always be stronger. No problem there, only point is that the Jedi has a very high damge saber at a very little force cost.
It took the Jedi about an hour, and a holocron to be able to beat the combat medic. He won in the end, but after eating a holocron and using a weapon stronger than mine will every be.
Now, explain to me how would it be possible for me, with a 395dps saber and 34 force cost on it, to have a fair chance against a BH like that. I'm not saying I should have an 'I win' button, I'm asking for a fair chance. When a BH like comes for me and I lose, I can't even say "oh darn, I lost because i made this and that mistake. When i get into another fight, i'll be able to improve". I don't even have a fair chance.
So I did adapt, lost a few skills I wanted to go get improved force SAP. A skill I don't want since I don't really PvP that often, a skill that costs me a lot of skill points I would like to see somewhere else, but I took it becuse that gives me slightly better odds, although still not a fair fight.
Look at all post-cu jedi, and look at post-cu combat medics, compare the time it takes to grind, and figure the odds. Then you'll see that there is no balance there.
How to beat a MCM/MBH:
Area attack to kill their droid. Keep the damage to default attacks if you are MDEF, if you are MLS/enh dabbler, attack fast and hard...if their healths drops to 50%, KD and Powerhit and head hit ftw, if you are powers, choke them. The only templates that have problems with this are non-MLS/Healers and non-MLS/Defenders. You will need to hold back and wear them down...make them use their mind...it will eventually wear down.
Secret Revealed: The MCM/MBH that never seem to run out of mind are using a mind crystal and mind foods/drinks. You can't do anything about the mind crystal, but the foods only last a short while at full effectiveness. The droid needs to be killed repeatedly. Save your force, conserve your mind as much as possible, and don't panic. They aren't as tough as they appear.

As long as we have a combat level based system, then 80 vs 80 is just that.
The differential factors then become skills, weapons, and equipment.
Jedi for the most part are dis-advantaged when comparing skills to any elite combat prof. Comparison of healing abilities, as we all know, do not come close to elite profs.
As someone that has read the books / expanded universe, Jedi healers are as powerful, if not more powerful than other medical profs, depending upon the specific task.
Anyone that has seen the movies or read the books also knows that only the most skilled non-jedi combatants would have a chance of killing a Jedi.
This is not a cry for an I win button and is only a wish for a reward that is equal to the accomplishment.
Before any PreCu Jedi start flaming, each of you had your fair share of game mechanics that provided for an edge during your grinding as well.
We should also stop wasting our time on these types of issues until SOE has enough nuts to tell us what they are going to do with FRS.
No...2000 - AB (which is always a must to keep applied) KD+PH (1280) + Headhit (still kd'ed and ABed) 750 = Incapped.

Ok, he's buffed right and has wine and spices, so his health is a little above 4000. He's at 2000 w00t! I knock him down, use powerhit (allright, it laned, 900 damage) then head hit (w00t, another hit, 600 damage). He has 500 left, gets up, uses 2 heals and back at 4000 and full health.
So now, he's back like new, i'm i'm down to 85% force.
Now what?

Hi...
First you need to check your numbers, when it comes to heals. Matta on the ahazi server has made a few tables and such. Your 1700 heals are over the top.
Secondly why not start using the Gunny Highway methode? Adapt, improve and overcome. Yes some times jedi loose, without the game being unbalanced and without the opponent cheating or something. I just find it sad all the nerf calls around here.
Third and last, no flame or personal harm meant.
