Wouldn't it be awesome if the devs would just tell us what works and what doesn't?

I'm 0044 Defender with Force Armor and I love it.

Someone's saying get vayerbok instead. Ok sure, but I use it in addition to.

Now granted it takes some force, but when you heal less you're saving force so it evens out pretty well and against multiple ranged it's quite worthwhile.

You can also get a drink with good chefs that give +25 to block called Vayerbok. It has a low fill of about 15 on average, lasts 15 minutes (stomach empties the 15 fill in 4 minutes) and works just as well as valor with no force cost and extra macros gumming up.

This been thoroughly tested? I've heard almost unanimously that this doesn't work for Saber Block as Block and Saber Block are two different skills.

We tested it several times last week and it worked just as good and in some cases better than Valor.

I want some solid proof of this, since the modifying stat(if you look under ^S) shows the bonus being added to BLOCK, not LIGHTSABER BLOCK.

Then test it and dont be lazy. You cannot go by those numbers. I can also wear WELL PAST the +25 in melee clothes, it will show up that I am past it in the "stats" but according to the Devs, it caps at +25 and tested it, sure enough it is capped.

It gives to Block yes, which makes it actually block a little more efficiently (we have noticed testing) as well as countless others on here. LSer block, and "block" are no different.

Dont read the numbers, just do the testing. It works.

Im mdef and i find it usefull alltho imo i think aura pwns but valor is fun against those ranged bh and when they are combined with pikatta pie and ranged defense food the bh cant pretty much run and hide cuz my offense is on the prowl

i'm almost positive vayerbok is applying tothe 'block' skill not 'saberblock'. block used to be in the pikeman tree if i remember correctly.

dmg reduction is aura. Valor blocks and it does it really well if you have some LS block already. It's real nice and I use it all the time.

LOL, nah when I say DMG Reduction, I mean the amount of damage that I can do - not that amount od damage done to me. Aura reduces the amount of dmg i recieve.Funny misunderstanding, I didn't think about the fact that what I said could be interpreted both ways. Read the description of Valor and you will see what I mean. Mainly I have been curious to know just how much it reduces my dmg output ability. According to one poster in this thread the reduction is minimal.

If you are doing 3 lines of Defender 4044 is the way to go now. The ranged def line is borked, except for adding 12 pts of innate armor. Valor doubles MLS saberblock.

Would you care to elaborate?

I just tested this on a NPC. He shoots me for less while I'm weilding a saber, than with a rifle. So its still only working while holding not VS like its supposed to be.

Improved Valor does have Dmg reduction.

Test it yourself I did and see my result above.

620 or so, down to about 612, so not much at all.

I havent tested it since before pub24 but improved valor didnt give me any damage reduction then. I gotta try it again...

As a master defender i have to say i love this skill, running through the Blackscale camp on the Ryyat trail to get to the radio in there getting shot at and seeing +block+ +block+ misses misses misses +block+ misses +block+ brings a smile to my face.

For those who say that it messes up their macros ill just say i dont use macro's when i fight i do all the work sometimes i need force valour sometimes i dont more often than not i dont even use force aura so macro'ing it is largely pointless the only thing i do use if im in a fairly tough fight is force infussion because my innate armour is high enough to keep me alive.
