Thread: Next Patch Hidden (Nerf) fix Coming
If its true about the ADK thing works, thats beautiful .... just figured I would warn people.
I agree that it may be a bug fix, but the fact is ... they pamper noobs with stuff all the time, but then it seems veteran players get s*&t on over and over again.
I will just buy ADks if this is the truth, but I figured people might want to be careful, plus skill tapes are gonna drop by millions obviously.

the nerf would kind of make sense though. I do feel you pain however. But what is the point of having conditions on everything any way if its not supposed to become useless when it hits a condition of zero. IMO i think when it hits zero condition it should automatically be deleted from our inventories as if, in regards to clothing, the very last thread that was holding the article together gave out and the clothes just fell apart.

FWIW: If clothing, weapons, armor and such didn't have a decayable condition, there'd be no reason to have Tailors, Weaponsmiths, Armorsmiths and many other crafting professions in the game. If nothing ever decayed, then you'd never need another item of that type. Why do you think the biggest haters of ADK's are tailors, armorsmiths and weaponsmiths? (And weaponsmiths have even more of complaint, concerning the relative power of looted weapons versus crafted ones, but that's getting further off topic.)The relatively sophisticated crafting in this game (assuming a lack of bugs) is one of its most distinguishing features. Otherwise, SWG would devolve into just another online combat game.BTW: This is a fix, not a "nerf".
forgive me youre absolutely right it is not a nerf but a fix. Poor word choice on my part. But you are a 100% correct. And aslo IMO adk's where the worst thing they ever intorduced in this game. It would be much better if they completely removed adk's and just made it possible to get more loot ca, aa more often.

/agree
I bought a friend a rifle Pre-CU that was borderline uber at the time (several mods, etc etc) I believe it was one of the last few high end loot weapons.
And as things happen, it hit condition 0. And with weapons there was no working at condition 0. It was a very sad loss, since his profession was focused around it, but that is how it goes.
If things never decayed, SWG economy would be even worse than it is now. This is how the world work, consumables, even if a mighty CA, eventually turn to dust.
So ya, it is a big loss for people I know that have been takening advantage of this, but that is kind of the point, they were taking advantage of the system.
When you feel bad about your loss of expensive CAs, just think of all the people in the game that never had them in the first place cause they weren't loot campers and don't have a ton of money.
Even myself, I have been in game for a long time, but I knowingly have given away close to 1 billion credits to new players and helping people when they truly needed it. And I couldn't even afford a 15mil CA at any single point.

I agree and while they are at it, they should reinstate the low XP gains, PvE XP loss, Clone Xp loss, multi BHs, and return names to terminals, as well never reinstate premium pearls because I have 4 perfectly tuned ones and dont need them..
See just because you cannot afford or are not lucky enough to loot things doesnt mean others should get screwed.
The point is, I have no problem with the game actually working as intended, but the fact you cannot pull tapes from clothing, and there was no warning about this so people could avoid the loss is my issue.
If i knew this was comming, I would never had worn my clothing in PvE, I would have used a robe.
This post wasnt for people to find a place to post their beliefs on the games fairness so long as it works in their favor, it was because I am sick of SOE screwing veterans every time we turn around.
I just looked at all my clothes, and for as much as I wear them and have fought in them, they are in great condition. I have never notice clothes decaying that much. Anyway, if they are going to fix clothing so that decay matters, then they should reset the condition on all the clothes first. Also this could really be a great boost for the tailor profession if they made it where a tailor could make the equivalent of clothing "restoration kits" so that they could repair clothes that hit 0 condition (for a nominal fee of course). Yeah, not a nerf, but a fix. Serious implications if just haphazardly implemented with no thoughts to the impact.
If this goes live, then we deservea second token respec so we can become tailors ![]()

So you're saying that because they are fixing a bug that people are exploiting, that equates to veterans getting screwed over?
Let me just say that as a veteran of MMORPGs since Meridian 59, and a veteran of this game since beta 3, I know damn well I shouldn't be taking advantage of being able to wear sometrhing that is decayed, or wearing something labeled as 'armor' when I know my class isn't supposed to wear armor. If you base what you do with your character off exploiting bugs, then you take the consequences when those bugs get fixed.
Wow I'm an exploiter and I didn't even know ! And it's funny I mean must be game-breaking be able to wear cas on 0/0 stuff.

Does armor work at 0 condition? No.
Do weapons? No.
It's pretty obvious that clothing shouldn't either.
Has it been labeled a bannable exploit? No.
Is it exploiting a bug? Yes.
If people are paying millions to get the combat attachments, then they must be worthwhile, and therefore the do indeed change the balance of the game when you can just keep your 0 condition combat mods.
Notice I refrained from making an obnoxious font out of your post, and I still stand by what I said. If you take advantage of a game mechanic that is quite obviously broken, don't come crying about lost millions and screaming "Stealth Nerf!!" when it gets fixed.
First armor does work at 0 condition but not at its full 'goodness'. And you can't compare clothes with armor, do clothes give you any protection ? Does armor give you any ?
By the way the developers didn't say anything about cas working on 0 condition clothes being a bug did they ? Show me.

Couple problems with your thoughts there.
1..Who is to say that armor does not work at 0 cond? What if i want to just use it as clothing? Its still equipable. Actually if you use 1/1 condtion armor that has broken, it will act as 100%. You will never need to buy armor again.
2. Clothing might deteriotate in real life, but it never goes poof. So why should we not be able to wear clothing at 0 cond? BE Clothes , i agree should stop working if at 0/100. However why must the tailor community punish all combat players and have their skill mods ruinied and hundreds of millions of credits lost.
Since the launch of the game clothing has worked as it does now. So how do you know it was not intential. Maybe they changed their mind right before launch to accomodate people that use skill tapes.
If this change does go thru, then player must demand a new skill to remove skill mods from deterioated clothing. Maybe make it a tailor skill.
