why do you compare dps when it is useless to compare ?

Simple explanation;

DPS = Damage Per Second. That means if I do 1000 damage per second (DPS) it will take me 3 seconds to kill a lvl 80 player if they do not heal themselves. At 644 DPS will take 4.65838 seconds to kill them. So logic dictates that if two player each using one of the above DPS fight each other, the one with 1000 DPS will be victorious.

Of course this is offset by various things; heals, armor, mitigation, dodge etc. But obviously, DPS does work because it's a naturally occuring phenom in the play system (as it is in all play systems even though this one makes it obvious).

well if i hit a level 80 3 times without heals he are dead yes and with a 1000dps gun (wich is speed pupped) you hit 3 times but if you oponent heal even once or twice then you are out of action and do more or less 2-300dps max if you are lucky this mean if you are able to kill in the first 2-5 sec then your mates gun is better if not your saber is way better becourse your action is there and his is not so you can go on swing your saber but he need to wait for his action to regain

go play kotor. your arguing so much for authenticity to starwars, but you leave out the conflicting yet related arguement of how there were a handful of jedi alive during this period. so since they are more jedi, and they have effectively destroyed the timeline, you cant have them all be exceptionally uber. even if it is pve only, it would send the economy out of whack for regular profs.

-apeist.

I sense much anger in you. And no matter how much you argue against it, the physical laws of the game do indeed produce a DPS for every player using every weapon. As for me being a noob, I think not. Not only have I been playing SWG since launch day, as a pre pub-9 hologrinder I've had the joy of grinding endless professions and then with only a few professions left I was forced to go through the village due to not unlocking soon enough. I too am unhappy with the number of Jedi and how easy it is to get now. But you cant take people's Jedi characters away just because it conflicts with the storyline/timeline. So Jedi needs to be more difficult to obtain and to be taken out of the public eye. This isnt a difficult problem to solve, especially if you think creativly. Im not trying to start an arguement, I just wanted to point out that Jedi truely underpowerd and that all this Jedi vs BH whining could be solved relatively easily.

Instead of having us kill a billion bols. Why not make Jedi like the movies? I really do not get why a FS series of quests [not getting boxes of supplies for some dude] would unlock the Jedi ability. I really hope SEGA takes this game over and revamps it. All SOE knows how to do is make mindless grind games.. Planetside, EverQuest..etc.

You must be using the wrong foods/spices mate. The BH's I fight have action that is nearly impossible to drop below half. I spent over 30 minutes fighting a MBH/CM on Dath the other day. I consistantly ran out of action, mind and Force (thankfully not all at the same time). Had to pop a holo even. The BH I was fighting never ran out of action or mind once.

This is why Jedi run from BH's now. Why bother spending half an hour for nothing? You get NOTHING out of killing BH's.

Again, Bounty Hunters should have a FRS system through Jabaa, Black Sun, etc. They shou;d have to go after people dealing in underworld activities. Jedi's are a target, yes..but there should be a system where true Master Bounty Hunters can hunt Padawan and lower Jedi.

Couldnt /agree more.

Jedi shouldnt be the only high-end content for BH's. A Jedi should also get something for defeating a BH that comes for them and BH's should lose something for failing. Here's a thought. A Padawan get's as much xp as he/she stood to lose and the BH loses that much in investigation xp and can't hunt players if he/she is below zero. This game doenst have any fear in it (except for Jedi losing xp) and that is why being high level doesnt mean a whole heck of a lot to mundane (non Force wielding) professions. If other professions had something to lose by dying (other than item decay), chancing a trip to the clone center (i.e. deciding whether or not to hunt that uber powerfull Jedi with a pre-cu saber and perfect pearls) would be a more weighty decision.

Ummmm... You mistake my post. One hit kills are not fun but a fourth gen saber shouldnever be outdamaged by blasters. and yes, slaughtering lesser powerfull professions should be boring for a Jedi. Killing other Jedi, Imperial Inquisitors if they are ever introduced, Nightsisters, Rancor, Krayt and other epic opponents would be more along the lines of appropriate targets for Jedi players.

have you ever get outdmg by many while you hit cl90 or above?

Yes all the time I out damage Jedi on my Rifleman BH

There's nothing saying that the Jedi killed by Jango on the balcony in Ep2 is fully trained. He could have been someones newbie Padawan. Also, Grevious is a special case. He was once flesh but had his body replaced with cybernetics and was trained by Dooku.

The Jedi was fully trained, but that said his attention was directed towards the Sith in scene and Jango took a cheap shot!

Yes you are correct Jango would have been toasted had the Jedi known he was there with a gun BUT Bounty Hunters ALWAYS try and take a cheap shot at the Jedi from behind, when they are wounded, etc. You can't judge a BHs effectiveness on how trained a Jedi is. Even the greatest jedi would die from several unexpected blaster bolts to the head from behind. The jedi would be judged in how aware he was when they go up against a BH. So if they KNEW they were there the BH would surely die. But BH is all about surprise and cheap shots
