Thread: Jedi Respec

I haven't used my token respec yet, but I can see the poster's point. If the nerf bat keeps swinging this freely, we'll need MULTIPLE respecs over the next few months.

It is amazing how much jedi keeps changing, though it's nice to see some improvements mixed in with the nerfs for a change. However, this means that a template that is viable and playable today may be completely worthless in publish 20 (or 21, etc.). Since a jedi grind is up to 37 million, plus the possible 10 million that some jedi may be in the "hole" due to PvP, and since this XP comes at a maximum of about 25-30 XP per hour (limiting factor is finding CL 78 and up mobs to get XP, along with possible down time due to the insane force costs/low regen rates), this can mean a grind of up to 1880 HOURS to fully change a template.

The nerf bat needs to stop swinging sometime. Things are just changing entirely too quickly, and for the devs to state "you can always change your template through (grinding)" is absurd in this case. An elite mastery takes one tenth the XP, has XP that flows at5 to 10 times the rate and has far fewer nerfs/far more improvements. It's just not the same issue.

So, are we able to save the "token respec" until publish 40? Who knows what is in the "pipe" for that one. (Oh, and who else finds the token respec box popping up every five minutes to be entirely annoying?) I've almost used it just to get rid of the darned box.

The dev's are flipping jedi back to front live is not a test center and yes i have my respec token but how do i know if there are not going to change it again this is not TKM or rifleman that can be grinded in a day this is JEDI and jedi is a very hard long grind that needs a well though out template and senses i am looking at my template i am not going to be off and i really do not know what other changes are going to follow so in conslusion i feel we should have a two day respec period when they put out patches like this one that affects jedi.

I dont need one , but this statement is bullsh!t. You cannot tell ppl "OK today this is what your chosen profession is capable of"
then change it entirely and not give the option to bow out. Obviously you cant just give a jedi respec, but an across the board respec is in order AGAIN. Jedi xp is a huge undertaking if you want to switch templates and with sony switching your current template for you on a weekly basis, how can you justify not offering a chance to get a template that works for your style?

Game Content is subject to change. I believe thats how it is worded. They are not required to provide a means for anyone to change with it, other than as given in normal game play. I'm so sick of /respec I could puke. You think this is the only time the game has changed and made people want to be/try something else? Up until the CU - they only had the option of dropping and regrinding. Screw /respec. It was good enough for me to do it the normal way for the last two years, these people are no more special than I am for $14.99 a month - to bad, so sad, kthxbye.

NO WAY IN HELL! They need to stop it here, this is becoming like people trying to quit smoking. Instead of saying oh this is my last one i swear, there saying 1 more week of respec for them we swear boss, or this is your "FINAL F'in RESPEC NO MORE" and then 2 days later well, we decided to give them a "token" respec which they can use whenever, thats fair. What next a well umm were giving them a 4th of July respec for those people who live in america. I mean come on lets end it now before we start getting 1 a week.

Jedi respec not respec

My point isn't so much in favor of future respecs, but in favor of less drastic changes. The nerf bats are swinging furiously, so much so that certain skills/masteries are becoming chaff.

Too bad they never said that the token respec was gonna be our last. I think that they implemented the token respec to be able to hand out respecs whenever drastic changes are made. I think it will come to a point where all the jedi templates will be seemingly equal so there will be no FOTM templates thus causing no controversy over respecs.

I still have my token respec, but even I will admit that these changes with P19 are really drastic and another token respec should be granted with changes this big. It takes a long time to grind out all that experience. How would you feel if you saved up the moneyto buy a Ferrari and bought one, and then a few weeks later it gets turned into a Buick?

It's really no different when you consider how much grueling grinding it takes to complete a template.

your right they didnt say token was the last. the one BEFORE it they did though. A message like "WARNING THIS IS YOUR LAST AND FINAL RESPEC" came up. In the paragraph it said something like After this respec your characters template will be permanent and cannot be altered by csr, respec, etc; only by natural game play.

it looks like people with BH and normal pro's do not like the idea but they are not jedi they do not know the time and effert we put in our char. Just think about if they never gave docter a respec and just think of it as took six months of crafting to master the pro and everytimme they died they lost a massive amount of XP and are always being hunted they would want a respec?

Yea but I think that the "final respec" that we got was a completely different system from the "token respec", so it would be the "final respec" of that system. Your thoughts?

you want a jedi respec and feel Defender is not worth mastering because AI can't be used to it original potential. Yet you say you should be able to respec when something is changed simply to continue playing a template that suits your playstyle. Defender is still very nice with the changes to AI. I don't like the changes made to it, but it still works. Are you saying that AI is the only skill in defender that fits "your play style". Because that is pretty much what you're saying when you ask for another respec to switch from master defender to something else to more fit your play style.

Besides, no one ever said you had to have the best of the best. Just play what is fun for you. I'm going 0444 LS, Healer 4000, MDef, Enhancer 4002. Unlike the normaly MLS,MDef, Healer 3000. This template fits my playstyle - sure things are bound to change with my template in the future, but I still plan on sticking with it for as long as I don't grow bored with it. This template is fine with me because it will be fun to play. The template is not based around healing every 2 seconds, or AI, it's all fun
