Thread: Here They Are: The Jedi Skill Trees (Huge Post)
Nice effort !
Couple of points: I think Force Choke would be lower in the skill tiers because we see Luke us this ability in RotJ and he's not a master yet.
Also, if I'm reading your arrangement correctly, dual bladed usewould berequired for Jedi Master? Iguess I don't believe this since we see many masters in AotC and not one of them uses a duel blade. I think the weapon use maybe lumped into one branch rather than split into various weapons.
Sits back and waits for everyone to start screaming nerf because a Jedi is to powerful and self sufficient.
Actually to those saying he made this up he didn't it is code that KGJV extracted from the .tre files. He just attempted to put it in order and try to piece together the skill tree.
Also just because /saberthrow1 is in the game doesn't mean it is an actual skill or they didn't decide t change it. Heck they could put /boogerflick3 in there doesn't mean it is an actual skill.
Lightsabre use is probably 1 of the 4 branches on the skill tree. Q-3P0 said in the Jedi Faqs that it would require a greater level to weild a double bladed lightsabre, so certification for it is probably higher on the branch, just like other weapons on other skill trees. A new Jedi charcter would not be able to use a double bladed lightsabre right away.
The Jedi Skill Tree is..
Novice/Master Padawan:
- Saber 1, 2, 3, 4
- Healing 1, 2, 3, 4
- Force Power 1, 2, 3, 4
- Force Manipulation 1, 2, 3, 4
Novice/Master Journeyman:
- Saber 1, 2, 3, 4
- Healing 1, 2, 3, 4
- Force Power 1, 2, 3, 4
- Force Manipulation 1, 2, 3, 4
Novice/Master (Jedi) Master:
- Saber 1, 2, 3, 4
- Healing 1, 2, 3, 4
- Force Power 1, 2, 3, 4
- Force Manipulation 1, 2, 3, 4

to all the people flaming about lightsabers being a 2handed weapon then how did aniken use two at once in aotc
I don't think lightsabers are classified as one or two-handed, they are just lightsabers. Their blade has no weight, so they could be used with either one hand or two. I think we see most held with two hands because it increases the user's control so much. You wouldn't want to accidentally cut one of your own limbs off. I don't know how exactly they'll be handled in SWG, but I would assume they are two-handed (unless dual-wielding is later implemented, in which case using two at once would make them one-handed -- maybe they just don't mention it and it depends on how many you wield). The dual-bladed saber is definately more like a polearm weapon though.
This is not a flame, just some facts. In any case, this is not directed to you Joshai, great job.
Either KGJV is lying or the Devs weren't supervised by SW "Authorities" (Or heck, they weren't SW fans) when they made this specific branch:
"02:
Skill Block: Two-Handed Saber I - Prescision
Block Description: Somewhat larger than regular lightsabers, heavy sabers require two hands to wield. This makes them a little more cumbersome, but with adequate training they can still be used to make accurate strikes.
Skills Granted:
- /saber2hBodyHit1 [target]: This attack allows a Jedi to perform a precise strike against the target's body, directly affecting its health pool.
03:
Skill Block: Two-Handed SaberII - Stability
Block Description: The weight of a heavy lightsaber can throw an unskilled user off balance. New stances should be learned to maintain stability, and at the same time throw your opponent off balance.
Skills Granted:
- /saber2hSweep1 [target]: This attack allows a Jedi to cause the target to lower its posture.
04:
Skill Block: Two-Handed SaberIII - Power
Block Description: The sheer power behind a two-handed lightsaber is enough to cause a good deal of harm. However, with appropriate training, specialized moves can be learned to increase damage done by the weapon.
Skills Granted: /saber2hHit2 [target]: This attack allows a Jedi to do significantly more damage than normal with a two-handed lightsaber. This attack is more powerful than Saber Two Hand Hit 1.
Skill Block: Two-Handed Saber IV - Area Attacks
Block Description: When surrounded by opponents, one may wish to employ techniques that are not commonly used against single targets. Abilities should now be taught that are effective against groups of enemies.
Skills Granted: /saber2hSweep2 [target]: This attack allows a Jedi to cause all targets in the immediate area to lower their posture, as well as dealing some damage."
Ok, more specific for you skimmers: "Somewhat larger than regular lightsabers, heavy sabers require two hands to wield. This makes them a little more cumbersome, but with adequate training they can still be used to make accurate strikes." and "The weight of a heavy lightsaber can throw an unskilled user off balance. New stances should be learned to maintain stability, and at the same time throw your opponent off balance."
Any self-respecting SW fan knows lightsabers have no weight, therefore the concept of a "heavy" lightsaber is utter BS. That's why the Force is required to wield a lightsaber correctly, since a normal, non-sensitive person wouldn't be able to handle them with the graceful movements they require. In other words, they need the Force to "know" where the blade is. Imagine having a 9 inch long stick with an imaginary prolongation of it in one end. Then imagine yourself fighting efficiently with it without losing limbs. Yeah, that's pretty much how it is.
Lightsabers are meant to be used as 2 handed weapons....yes they are pretty light(not heavy..but they give off pretty light too) so you could use one with one hand but if i remember right there was only one Jedi who used a lightsaber one handed and that was that guy on the jedi council in Ep I,II with the wierdly shaped head.

The blade doesn't have weight but the hilt does. Correct me if I'm wrong, but none of the movies or EU stories say that there isn't any difference in lightsabers. Episode 1 proved that there is very different kinds of lightsabers. Maybe it's just a lightsaber with larger/better quality components that ends up weighing more because of it.
But big enough to "throw you off balance", "be larger than regular lightsabers" (The lenght of a lightsaber is regulated with a dial on the hilt) and "requiring specific stances"? Highly unlikely. There's also the fact that I've never seen, read or heard about a "heavy" lightsaber. As far as I know, there are only lightsabers and double-bladed lightsabers. Everything else is combat style.
