No.

Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

They where not as valuable, and you still can do it.

Fixed.

* Weaponsmiths could actually sell weapons other than the one that does the most damage.

That's post-cu yes, where SAC, Speed and Damage is important. Pre-cu, damage was everything.

* Mobs were more interesting as they had various resists and armor levels which required some knowledge/skill to fight them.

* I didn't have to spend half an hour shouting "looking for group" before I could go earn some xp in reasonable quantity.

You surely spent time to find a sologroup, after spending time to find an entertainer, after spending time to find a doctor, wasting 30-45 minutes just to go out and do something.

* PVP wasn't a "he who heals best wins" situation

PVP was about "who got lucky with the loot" situation.

* My state changing attacks worked.

Still does.

* Mastering one of the jedi professions actually was worthwhile.

Jedi was not in scope of the CU.

* Doctors had a viable way of earning money in the game.

Unbalanced ruin of the games economy. We get 10k per pve mission now, just like everybody else.

They took away what made the game fun. Now it's a damn clone of every other MMO out there. Now crafters get shafted, same with entertainers.

Agree. Pre-cu was terrible. Post-cu is a lot better. But still has a lot of room for improvement.

It did not need further description.

SWG is not ran on someone's old athlon 700 in a cellar. The game is controlled by a great amount of machines, with people hired to monitor the servers 24/7. Regardless what you remember, pre-cu had major issues, and keeping a separate bunch of developers for the pre-cu alone, when the great majority of players just want to have the CU fixed is not financially possible.

Outside of the larger player base...

What was good about Pre-CU again? Please, refresh my memory.

Just a couple things off the top of my head:

* Single combat professions mixed with crafting/entertainers were as valuable as full combat temps. Okay, I can agree with you here, but you can still mix professions nowadays..perhaps not as effectively, but no one is stopping you.

* Each profession was unique, with it's own strengths/weaknesses. I don't really agree with this. I think the CU did a better job of this, actually. What was good...truly good in Pre-CU? Swordsman, Rifleman, TKM...only ones that really come to mind. Other professions could be used of course, but those three were far superior to all others.

* Weaponsmiths could actually sell weapons other than the one that does the most damage. I agree. The crafting system got pwned by the CU.

* Mobs were more interesting as they had various resists and armor levels which required some knowledge/skill to fight them. Head-hit for the win. I never really felt threatened by anything.

* I spent more time watching the fight and not flashing buttons. Agreed. I hate them too. But I used to be able to watch the fights because it was spam Head-Hit for teh win.

* I didn't have to spend half an hour shouting "looking for group" before I could go earn some xp in reasonable quantity. Solo grinding, in my opinion, should not have been done away with. Making high-end "content" not soloable...well, I don't really have as much of a problem with that.

* PVP wasn't a "he who heals best wins" situation Previously it was who can apply the Mind-Fire the fastest. I don't like the healing-thing either, but I don't feel that pre-CU combat was any more "tactical" than this is.

* My state changing attacks worked. Point made. States still work, but not as well, so I'll give you this.

* Mastering one of the jedi professions actually was worthwhile. Point made.

* Doctors had a viable way of earning money in the game. It sucks that their livlihood was shot, but I felt that the uber buffs were a major problem with the game in the first place. Did that mean doctor had to be nerfed? No, not really. And while I am by no means suggesting this, it could be argued that Doctors, because of the necessity of buffs were part of the inflated economy. I know that this is not the whole truth, but...it's a different way of looking at it.

well, that was just some of the easier ones, I'm sure more people could add to the list.

I'm not a CU fanboy...let that be known. I personally think the CU was a failure on the whole. However, I do not think that the pre-CU system wasmore "fun" or "better". I felt it was grossly unbalanced and poorly implemented, although the "ideas" behind it were phenomenal. Truth be told, I would have preferred that they simply "tweaked" the old system rather than give us what we have now. But, having said that, I don't really miss the old system either.

More than anything, I'm just sick of the whining. It's not coming back. Get over it...or quit. It's not much more complicated than that.

I miss my old template though (Rifle/Pikes), which is something not possible under the CU, so I guess I do miss some things. However, like I said, I don't miss enough things to ever want the Pre-CU back...outside of my friends.

I said it was possible, you said no.

From what I see in your post, that even you admit it is possible, but there are difficulties that would need to be addressed. A simple "no" was not only an unsatisfactory reply, but incorrect.

It is possible. If it can be profitable is the only question, and don't even pretend to know the answer on that one.

A great majority of the players left. As more leave, the population be increasingly more in favour of fixing the CU.....someday it will be a great majority.

Reason why DEVs not bringing Pre-CU back, cause they suck on proggramming and they are lazy to do it again!
