I guess my whole point is this, Jedi and Bounty Hunters are not Jedi nor Bounty Hunters. We are people. Real people with real lives and real money that we are giving to the Dev's. Somehow the cycle has to break. There's only two ways to make that happen. The first and easiest is for all us en mass to quit, but most of us don't want to. We want the Dev's to treat us better, be respectful to us, and change their slimey ways. The second option is for the Dev's to step in and say enough is enough, we're going to fulfill all the promies we made to the community.

When have the devs ever mistreated us or been less than respectful? Been reading these forums since they were open and cant recall a single instance of them being anything but courteous.

"Slimey ways"??? Seems they bend over backwards to give us what we want (and balance kept across numerous professions, ie careful what you wish for...you might get it Sure there are issues...always will be too.

Not to be contrary...

I will point back in history to a few things Hayden said in the past.... Along with the numerous promises made to the Smuggler community. As well as the way they constantly ignore crafting professions. Haven't done anything with JTL except introduce unbalanced ships while Droid Programs and Specials are still bugged... etc... etc... etc...

There is no peace, there is anger.
There is no fear, there is power.
There is no death, there is immortality.
There is no weakness, there is the Dark Side. I am the Heart of Darkness.
I know no fear, but rather I instil it in my enemies. I am the destroyer of worlds.
I know the power of the Dark Side. I am the fire of hate.
All the Universe bows before me, I pledge myself to the Darkness.
For I have found true life, in the death of the light.

I dont recall...was Hayden a Dev? I thought he was part of the management team. You point out issues in-game and I wont argue against those. But your (IMO) unfair attacks against the Dev's are the only thing I took issue with in your post. They arent free to do whatever they want, when they want. I don't think this community is any worse off than those of other MMORPG's.

Personally, I have no trouble walking away from a game I'm not having fun playing, like EQ2 after about 6months, and even SWG from Nov of last year until just before CU hit. These games change constantly, as I'm sure you are aware, and I've been having fun again. The Dev's are doing just fine now as far as I'm concerned

Pilots are ignored and space is empty, this is Star Wars for God's sake! You have so many things you could do with that. Use your imaginations, show off, get creative.

Oh geeze, please don't remind them space exists. It may be ignored, but at least it's still somewhat fun. You know how long that would last if the devs got a notion to "fix" it.

The crafters want to craft new and interesting things. You have an open playing field Dev's why not? It doesn't have to have uber stats or extreme worth, just new clothes, Rebel Helmets, Imperial Uniforms, etc. Smugglers want to Smuggle. I mean, come on, Han Solo was a Smuggler.. why can't we get some of that? Pilots are ignored and space is empty, this is Star Wars for God's sake! You have so many things you could do with that. Use your imaginations, show off, get creative. You have to realize that could only generate accounts not get them cancelled. Jedi and Bounty Hunters are such a high profile for this game. My friends eye's bug out of their head when I describe the fact that players track us down (in a good way). Foster that and make it more symbiotic of a relationship. If it's supposed to be Risk vs Reward where's the reward?

I agree with your entire post, but especially this.

Rebel Col. Madira Kaba-Solfire of Sunrunner

Ajha of Bria~.~Mabi Maru of Scylla~.~Gira Starshooter of Naritus~.~Kaliente of Eclipse~.~Izh'kar of Infinity

Pfft.

Ok, I'm willing to conceed the Dev's don't make all the decisions... matter of fact they make very few. So I'll say my biggest issue then is with the SWG Management/Marketting team. I've had discussions with Dev's in om's and in the forums and in general I know for a fact that they try their best and do their best. They are hard working individuals, unfortunately the "vision" for this game has been unrealized as it was originally told to us. As far as other MMO's I don't know, fantasy games don't do it for me so I have no basis of real comparison.

I guess part of my point is that SWG has a wide bearth of possibilities vs fantasy based games. This game can be totally different than the others. JTL can be so much more. SWG has an oppurtunity that no other MMO has right now. An established storyline, established events, and an ongoing civil war. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to go to a battlefield and join up with some imperial npc's and fight against some rebels supported by npc's? Or for that matter have fleets of Imperial/Rebel craft moving throughout the galaxy? Actually see the three ISD's in orbit over a system.

I just believe that they have a golden oppurtunity to make this game better than any other MMO out there and different in every way. Yes, there's limitations with hardware and software but I believe many of these things can be done without pushing the enevelope too far.

I respectfully conceed that bashing the Dev's doesn't serve any purpose so sorry if my post seems that way. Change the word "Dev" to "SOE" and I will stand by it. Whomever is in charge of running this ship is taking the easy road instead of the innovative road. It's easy to change things and not worry about what else it breaks, the innovative approach would be to fully test and consider how any one change affects the entire game. Yes, they have Beta's. But after being in every Beta and Alpha since SWG-Beta 3 I can testify that 9 times out of 10 bugs in Beta make it to live and patches/expansions get pushed out too soon.
