I'm not sure it's misconception but more intentional design.

A friend of mine met the devs once each month as he livesint he same city SOE devs are.

He told me some time ago devs are worried with the insane number of Jedi in game.

They never intended to make this happen.

Actually they have no clue to lower Jedi population to reasonable levels without making players mad.

One of the solution is to create non jedi servers but first they see too much trouble managing 2 different environments and second the transfert system is far from finishedso people won't move to theses servers as they would loose resources, items in datapad, houses etc, etc...
