Isn't tuning Pearls fun....
I too must have tune hundreds of pearls, and spent loads of time and money on them.
And there seems to be no advantage of getting a poor quality pearl to a premium one.
2 days ago, i purchased a good quality pearl for 1 mill.
it tuned to 111 dmg, -0.2 spd, -6 FC
another tuned to 95dmg, -0.19 spf, -5FC
both good quality ones.
I purchased 4 premium pearls pre-cu for 15 mill a piece not 2 months ago, and all tuned to crap.
go figure......

Man go farm them yourself then. Pre-cu jedi tuned 50+ premiums to make a nice saber (perfect looking for more like 100+ tunes). No need to pay for them when you have an alt you can make into a bh or even hunt krayts yourself.
And trust me, for 45 tunes those are pretty dang sweet tunes.

this would be ok if the spawn wasnt messed up. Some people cant log on straight after a restart everyday. These spawns really need fixing soon, like others i have to work until long after restart times

With all those templates I beated all those BHs, including a gank of 2 BHs before they changed the BH system. So, I recommend you to start to work on your PvP skills so you can defeat your BHs and not have to run as you said.
And always you can leave the game and play WoW, SOE is not with a whip over your back, you can always choose.

im interested in your stratergy with the mpower template, not as a flame but becayse its the template iam going for. any pointers are appreciated (currently im well away from completing at 3322 powers and dabbling the rest). PM is ok if u want to keep it secret

to be honest, i have tuned a fair crystal and got88 dam and -8 FC, almost fell off my chair
Not perfect but ive tuned goods and qualities that didnt come out nearly as well

Pre-cu you could farm the crap out of Kryats and pull premiums...I know some pre-cu Jedi whosay they farmed over 1000 premiums...
Mmmk, 1000's eh? So was this solo, assuming it was and that they used a speed capped swordsman with a nice powerhammer it would take roughly 15 mins a kill. Thats not taking into account that it takes time to find a krayt (spawned in 3's), or that they proberly only dropped one in four or five kills. That seems to be a lot of time killing krayts.

Talk to Serviticus on Bria...He had it all figured out... plus, with 2 or 3 friends you spend an hour or twoa day for a few weeks and you watch them rack up. The point being, THOSE crystals tuned WELL...you could just sell them for great money, and the the other loot was great too for WS and AS...
Lets just stop the post-Jedi flames, and focus on getting them in a better situation. They did the grind too, and no matter when you did the grind, it has never been a cake walk, ever.

Why do people keep making posts that they have no facts for.
It has been stated multiple times that YOU CAN tune any quality crystal/pearl for the potentially the same stats. However it has also been stated that the higher the quality the better your chances of a good tune.
The best overall description of the tunning process that I have seen(wish I could remember the name of the original poster) was to compare tuning to a "Plinko" game from "The Price is Right". If you are not familiar with what that is see the diagram below.

Basically you take a ball and drop it from the top of the board and it bounces around till it lands at the bottom which is how your stats are determine. This means that it is entirely possible that you could have a ball that would bounce all the way from the poor side to land on the flawless side of 120/-9, however the chances of that occuring are very very slim, and visa versa. Your chances of tuning a completely useless pearl from a flawless pearl are just as slim as tuning a perfect pearl from a poor quality. Expect Quality to be basically right in the middle of the chart, and currently the only things dropping are "goods" and that gives you some idea of why tunning is occuring the way it is. It's not by any means impossible to tune a perfect one but with only goods being tuned your chances are pretty slim and would require a large number of pearls to be tuned(and no I dont' consider 50 pearls to be a large number of good pearls).
I hope this example starts to make some sense, and yes I know I haven't included all of the pearl qualities but this should give you a basic understanding of how it all works and so everyone can truely see what type of pearl you are tuning, we are tuning pearls at the low end, not mid range pearls and certainly not high end pearls.
It isn't a problem with tuning, the problem is that nothing higher than good currently exists(well quality crystals do but you get my point).

Ok its funny but get this:
I have tuned over 200 + and I have two damn near perfect sabers actully.
So actully your right on course stats wise Id say out of every 100 you get 4 to 5 good ones. add another 50 and you would have had 4 decent tunes.
(This is pre cu stats even) -- Dont think they did not tune on the same average (might have been lower damage but you get the jist of it).

45... a guildy of mine tuned 200 for only slightley better results.
