i became jedi because of 2 reason first and i know thats 90% of the cimnuity out htere jedi always had this mystysm aroudn them i fell in love with em when i wathced the movies and i still am intrigued by em
to become a jedi was an intergral part of what i wanted to experience although i got this game to be a bounty hunter

second jedi was suppose to be the toughest profossesion. it was suppose to be rare, filled with extrreme danger and consquence and because it was suppose to be such a challenge to play to me that would be fun
i enjoy challenges in games. granted like some people say i coudl just go get jedi academy or kotor but the difference is that computer ai fro the most part are stupid adn easy to beat and hence why it isnt challenging

in galaxies there woudl be other real players that woudl coem after you and try to kill you because the emperor hates jedi. the thought of being attacked at any time by a bounty hunter because i had scrwed up or because i showed off somoen could attakce me trough saber teff was to me one of hte funnest aspect . you had to be smart, you had to be hidden but you could still help your friends at a cost and to roleplay a jedi took skills and patience

now jedi is common, the mystic behind em in game has been shattered. there is no danger no challenge
anyone can become a jedi and roleplayign is dead

jedi have been dumbed down , nerfed and made so easy to get that it makes me sad and i would gladly give up my jedi in a heartbeat if tey removed htem form the game

if they moved hte timeleine a bit to post RoTJ then seeing so many wouldnt distrub me but hte fact of the matter is , no matter what anyone sais at this points int eh movies jedi are for the most part complety and uterly dead, sure in the eu there are jedi hidding but you dont see em runnign around at the head of hte GCW...

just my 2 cents

I went jedi because thats whats Star Wars for me!

Since the moment I saw the movies for the first time ages ago - and read some of the books, I wanted to play a Dark Sith Lord. It have a mystic, a style, and an evil attidute I so much loved Darth Sidious for!

The lightsabers. The force lightning. To see people struggle under your fingertips when using Choke/grip... you gotta LOVE IT!!!

Thats why I went jedi!

TKM, Smuggler, BHs, Doctors, Rangers etc. can all go to bed! For me, there is no Star Wars If I cant play jedi!! I am not saying its not fun to play A master Swordsman, which I did for like 3-5 months before I turned jedi! Because I loved it! But I did not feel I really really had fun before the moment I made my first lightsaber!! I think I felt much the same when I made my first lightsaber as a totally fanatic religious person when he enters a extreamly sacread church or temple.

Free character unlock. Bah. Nice, yes, specially since Jedi get nerfed quite a bit, but never the reason why I went jedi!!! Because I went jedi, because thats whats Star Wars is to me: The struggle between the Dark Side Force and the Light Side Force. The GCW can go to bed!!

because it was rare, and i could roleplay a jedi, hiding and trying to be discreet, not running around in the open because i'd be attacked and possibly killed on sight....

so much for that now..... thanks SOE.

I did it cause it was exciting doing all of the professions and seeing all of the aspects of the game. I couldn't get over how much there was to do. And my heart would race each time I finished a profession, maybe that could be the one.

I did it mostly because I tend to obsess, but I had a lot of fun along the way. I was a Jedi in hiding, which I thought was pretty fun. I went a few months before anybody besides my real life friends knew what I was.

Until the port to the EQ code I played 5 accounts on average of, I'd guess, 10 hours a day.

Tip to LEC/SOE: Sci-Fi MMO players don't necessarily belong to the same resource pool as fantasy MMO players.

agreed. i got jedi when there were less than 50 or so on my server. it hurts to see that now they're running around in the open, with no repercussions, and the rarity/mysticism is completely gone.

all i see these days is idiocy in hordes.

completely gamebreaking to me, and completely un-star wars-ish now, the timeline's are nonexistant.

the game had potential, just no brains behind the development, and no love for the star wars story.

When I first started the game it was the first thing I wanted to do. But no one really knew how to do it. Then the message hit all servers. That the first Jedi unlocked on another server. Then the holocron rush started.

At first I couldn't afford one, but then they gave us one for Christmas. And I got the rest as I was moving up. Jedi was a huge class before patch 9 and it was something to work for.

I became a Jedi because my character was lead that way by the Force and for no other reason

Urban Dictionary definition of SMED:

"to interfere with one's gaming enjoyment: To drastically alter an item which is enjoyed by thousands."

TO pull a smed. Jeez, those dev's pulled a smed on swg big time

I wanted to be one because I thought it would be cool to have one, have a sort of end game, (at the time cause I got Jedi nearly right after the village came out) thought it would be cool to have a special prof I could play every once in a while, I was at the end game already after 4 months of playing the Pre-CU days I was bored off my rocker, I thought when I was done with my Jedi I'd just sell it on Ebay lol (haven't done it now and won't do it thanks to the CU renewing my spirits in the game somewhat).

those are my reasons I guess...lol
