/sigh This isn't a cloak nerf, it's a skill change due to the new "cloaking" powers offered to Rangers. Read up and stop complaining.

apparently very soon a cloak nerf.
Yes, I have already read all of the threads on it... it's still a nerf.
Sorry that you mistook this thread for a complaint. It isn't, really, it's actually about acceptance that being a Jedi will probably not be much fun for the next few months... Acceptance is not complaining.
I'm hoping (cuz I don't pray) that the new expansion IS the content we're all dying for AND that it is available Nov 1st as planned. New robes, FRS, PvP, cool missions, etc are all rumors I hope are true.I also think it's funny that the reversal of the new group XP changes they made would have solved our over-population problem, but as a player base we decided it wasn't worth the hassle of a slower grind.Message Edited by RosaShyanne on 09-19-2005 11:45 AM
The XP nerf would have affected every profession and every player, including those who had not interest in Jedi. Plus, grinding is not content.
I don't have high expectations for the new FRS for a simple reason... I can't see SOE doing something more sophisticated for advancement than either grinding or PVP.

However, they might very well be tweaking the strengths due to the continuing escalation of Jedi everywhere.
antares
....as well they should
I disagree.
At this point in time, SOE might as well start advancing the storyline... such a huge number of players wants to be Jedi, so just move the story forward to the post-ROTJ era. Make it so lots of people can be Jedi, but so that they cannot abuse their powers -- in fact, make it so that they can only use their powers to be the guardians of "peace and justice". Don't have dark Jedi, have Sith instead. Make it so that you can only be super uber if you use your power for the good of your fellow players.
All these complains and nerfs where all well anticipated, atleast for most of us. People still believe Jedi is special. The truth is almost everyone has a jedi alt nowadays. In the past Jedi use to get nerfed but the intervals of the nerfs where quite long. Simply put, there where less Jedi and so there was less contamination to normies. Now the numbers of jedi have grown tenfolds and are still growing, to a point where jedi and jedi are disagrying to a point where its no longer viewed as jedi vs jedi rather powers vs ehancer or enhacer vs defender and so on.
People are simply reacting to all this cause there actual skills are being affected. Jedi will keep getting nerfed for as long as this game exist, because this is what people strive for and its the main focus.
IMO there is nothing you can do now besides try and slow down the intervals of the nerfing.
And the people to blame are not the DEVs, its the community. Everyone that has ever posted on the forums, or submitted in game complain is too blame for the state of Jedi. DEVs simply react to the chaos they see.

the thing is what happens when the FRS comes back, will knights get a boost in power and the trials be ultimatly harder thus giving old knights a massive step up if the new knight trials becommes some sort of jedi vilalge trial?
Exactly, now I feel bad for the Jedi that felt as if they didnt have a template quite up to par with others they would get owned. Because on my server 80% Of the Jedi have Modded Clothes, and stated from the Devs at Fanfest 2, That Powers was an alternative to Lightsaber. Yeah ok, but why isnt there an armor break? Why does Lightning take just as long to power up as powerbreak but only half the damage?
I mean we are talking about a 200dmg saber using power attack= Force Lightning.

Do you mean "we" the Jedi, or "we" the entire player base of SWG. Because I would posit that both are true as a result of the dev's lack of foresight with respect to Jedi.
Jedi probly more affected than anyone else... a regular non-Jedi template doesn't take long to grind, if the profession changes to where it's no longer fun or rewarding gameplay, you can easily change professions.
I would say 'we' = the entire player base.

Fixed. Seriously, what game offers more than PvE quests, grinding, and PvP.... none.

It would be great if there would be more PVE quests for advancement instead of grinding/PVP. And, as I said before, I can't see SOE being more sophisticated than that when it comes to FRS advancement.
