Thanks for the constructive feedback there.
Oh btw have you heard of credit based on experience? Example: If you have been working in a bank for 10 years in certain roles, then for your accounting degree you do not have to do certain subjects.
Please post informitavley and thank you for helping further my point.

I love your idea on experice degrading with time spent playing to help balance the casual gamer. I think it should be taken seriously.
But just going to the point marked in yellow. What if that person was a bank clerk for 10 years and not a very good one?
I used to do a lot of martial arts, and when looking for a new school to learn at, i'd see adverts saying "10 years teaching experience". The novice martial artist might say "Great 15 years teaching. Must be a great martial artist and teacher". But the truth is the FIT principle Frequency Intensity and Time. i.e How often they train, how hard they train, and for how long they train. Take the 15 years experience guy. 10 years at 1 hour per night 2 nights a week. Thats 2 hours a week, 104 hours a year.1040 hours over 10 years.
Take someone who teaches 4 hours a day 6 days a week buthas only been teaching for 3 years. Its their life. 4hours x 6 days = 24 hours per week. Thats 1248 hours a year. Thats 3744 hours in 3 years.
I know where I'd rather learn.
I'm not sure what i'm trying to say...................i'm going to go back to work now. Sorry. /shame
i think the only problem with this...is this. take my situation.
I have my main char on bria. Soon i will have a 2nd char on bria. With your new method here...i can create an account on Bloodfin or Tempest, right? Ok now i have a CL1 on tempest. Now i play and play on my Bria account. I play on that account for 3 months say. right? Now i log onto my Bloodfin account. He now has exp bonuses for being away for 3 months. I then level him up to CL80, become force sensitive and bank some FS exp...all in say a few days. Now i log off and play Bria again. I log on the other char and do the village phases, but i wait another 3 months after they are done...and log back on my bloddfin guy and get a full temp jedi with more exp bonuses in about a week if that.
Now you might say, well yes that was easier, but it still took you almost 8 months to get that 2nd char jedi on bloodfin...which is the same time it takes for a constant player to achieve right? Yes you would be correct. EXCEPT what if i did this multiple servers, having 8 OTHER accounts that i did this with. Then i can sell all the jedi on e-bay. I'd make like $8,000 from this new system. LOL I realize thats illegal and i would never do it...but you have the potential to have MULTIPLE Jedi and 2nd characters all at the cost of barely any grinding time, because u just play your main character while the other characters on the other servers just accumulate bonus exp time. And then you log in one day and play with them for a few days and max them out.
That is the ONLY critcal flaw i see with your system. I guess if you were to impliment this, you would have to be server specific and tell SOE that you want this to ONLY apply to one server. Then i guess it could work.
Hope this helps your critical thinking =) Just wanted to point this out.

some one has been playing WOW as that system is already in place.
Somone didn't read the whole thread as he said this system is from EQ2.
The WoW system is a streight 10% bonuswhich you get for a certain period of time based on hom long you have been in a restfull state, IE in a tavern or Capitol City deemed to be safe.
Sorry but I just can't go along with the Op's idea. I played EQII and frankly I am sick and tired of the constant whiningof the "we should all be equal regardless of the dedication and determination of the more persistant player" crowd. Jedi should be the toughest class toearn and the hardest to beat under any circumstances period. Should a full template Jedi be impossible to beat? No. Should they be able to be taken out by another combat class solo? In my opinion, rarely to never. A full template Jedi should be a challenge to play and to play against. It should take a group to take out a well played full template Jedi IMHO.
The fact is though that a large percentage of the population of SWG can't deal with the idea that another class (Jedi) may be more "powerful" then theirs class/template and that there may be another player who plays smarter and harder then they do and so the whine begins. First it was the Master Commando's dots, then it was defence stackers, then the MCM. For the life of me I just don't understand it.
I personally like the idea of rested xp. I mentioned this on the Corbantis forum once. It wasnt too shuned. It is good for the casual players for sure, as they can still level up and experience the high end content and arent shut out from doing things like jedi.
To the ones who say that casual players shouldnt be jedi. That is bs. No one should be denied the ability to accomplish everything this game has to offer just becuase RL doesnt afford them the freedom to power grind 15 hours/day, or even a week. Rested xperience allows a casual gamer to grind and complete the game in a reasonable amount of time without having to spend months or years to accomplish something.
If SOE were to implement this, and therefore making Jedi easier to obtain they will hit us yet again with the nerfbat...

I'd post this in a more profession-wide forum, personally.
But I don't neccisarily think that it should be based on logout time. I think bringing back BF would be best. Actually, not battle fatigue so much, but a more generalized "fatigue". You'd start off with 0 fatigue, which would be equivilant to 100% XP gain rate. As you perform any action (including dancing, crafting, etc) you'd gain fatigue. As your fatigue goes up, your XP goes down. Past a certain point, your actions would begin to be less and less effective. Combat toons would notice their defenses dropping, crafters would start getting critical fails more often, dancers and musicians would start playing off-key or falling down (thus preventing them from healing anybody or providing and experience buff).
Now, anybody could watch or listen to an entertainer (as you can now) but the recovery rate would be very, very slow (like1 hour to bring fatigue down to zero). However, you'd have the command to "focus" on particular customers-- however, the entertainer would have to click a box that came up to say "yes" tofocus a performance. An entertainer could "focus" on up to 8 people at once. Having a focused performance would heal your fatigue better, and an entertainer could then inspire you with a 10% XP buff-- which could not be applied if you have fatigue to begin with. That would take care of AFKers. Sure, you could get an XP fix from an AFKer, but it'd be 1000x faster if you found a person ATK, and it would be the best way to get the XP buff.
That makes people pause during their gameplay to keep their fatigue down, but also doesn't force people to simply not log in. Sometimes, you can't wait 24 hours to log in. Sometimes, you can play at 7pm one day, and then 1 pm the next day...your schedule in real life shouldn't affect your ability to get XP in a game, I think.
So we are punished for playing? No thanks.
