Thread: A simple and fun Jedi FRS system and solution for Jedi PVP problems

Correct, if you dont want to PvP you shouldn't reap the benefits of those that do PvP. As well, if you dont want Forced PvP you shouldnt be a Jedi
So you are saying that because a person excells at pvp than that person is superior to those that excell at cooperative play and that said person deserves more benefits because his/her play style should be the only play style available to everyone?

tell you what tho, when the grind for jedi becomes equal to the grind for any regular class profession, then you maybe nto something. so we are talking no village, no fs points, no phases, no village missions, no 5 times less exp, and no 3.2 mill master boxes= roughly 16000000 regular exp for a master box, 8000000=for a 4 box, 4000000 = for a 3 box and so on down the line. no your BIG IDEA is one of the worst i have heard yet, or better yet, bring all regular professions exp up to jedi levels, that way you dont get a jedi exp nerf, you get a game exp balance. yes i think i like this last idea alot.
if your going to be as powerful as a jedi, you should have to grind the same amount of exp as jedi for game balance.)) i like this alot

Patch Notes
- All combat classes (including combat medic) will now have the same XP requirements as Jedi and will earn XP at the same rate as Jedi.
- All combat classes (including combat medic) will have to unlock 6 full branches at the non-FS village. (24 Skill Points of seemingly worthless skills) to unlock their normal professions.
- All combat classes (including combat medic) will now be susceptible to visibility from Force Sensitive NPC's and Players (vis range is equivalent to max weapon range). Those players, once gaining enough visibility, will generate 5 missions on Jedi missions terminals. These missions may be pulled by full template Jedi. Upon successful completionthe player will lose XP at a rate of 2000 X (number of skill points investedin any combat related profession) and the Jedi will receive a predetermined payout in credits.
- All weapons stats will be brought in line with post-cu lightsaber stats.
- Healing has now been balanced across the board.
/sarcasm off
**NOTE** Don't take me seriously here. Just find it funny that normal professions think they should be => Jedi.

So, what I'm taking away from this post, and others like is that, you wouldn't want to be a Jedi, and you wouldn't have gone through with the grind, if it didn't mean that you'd be more powerful than everybody else.
Am I correct in my assumption?
Just curious, how many of you holo-grinded your Jedi Slot back on early 2004, when everybody did so with the understanding that Jedi would be permadeath, or later that year, when there was the understanding that deaths would result in skill loss, even for full-template knights?

I'll go one further...
The fact that Jedi are supposedly already (at full template) only 1.5 times stronger than a CL 80 is in itself, an inbalance if the Xp required to achieve that level is weighed. Let's ponder that for a moment...
To become a Full Template Jedi one needs:
- A single Master Elite profession XP required 5.85 million XP
- 24 FS boxes (6 complete FS trees) 172,575,000 XP reg to Fs XP conversion
- 33.460 million JEDI XP to complete a template, which roughly equates to 184 million non Jedi XP.
Total XP for Jedi: 362.425 MILLION XP to become a full temp, from start to finish.
Total XP for CL 80: 11.7 million
Summary: The Jedi grind will take 31.976 times as much XP to complete than a dual master CL80.
So by your logic, Jedi should be 32X as powerful as other characters, correct?
So the OP wants a Jedi Knight who has the ADDITIONAL task of completing the Knight Trials to be the SAME as a CL 80? I already think it's a joke that a Full Temp Jedi is ONLY 1.5X as strong as a CL80 when it takes 32 times as long to grind, and even that is arguable.
You call it a "task", I call it content. What exactly do you guys with the completed Jedi templates do, now that you have no more grinding to do?Do you considerdoing the "tasks" on Kashyyk to be grinding?

i agree with you there alot, but others will argue that you shouldnt have become a jedi then...lol. There is no way to win that arguemtn right now either since currently jedi is all about grinding and pvp. Thats just the facts unless SOE has a great vision and changes what jedi means in this game. Competition with others has never been something ive liked. Especially competative sports. Im more a music, artsy type that enjoys role playing in the star wars universe. I enjoy activities that involve self mastery not mastery of others. I think alot of people that play this game feel the same. I think alot of star wars fans feel that becoming a jedi is what star wars is all about. I dont recall many ultimate swordsman or rangers that appeared in star wars movies. Though i must say adding other porfessions makes the game fun and versitile to fit dirrent personality play styles. I definately think that SOE should introduce a system in the jedi profession that allows for other styles of play. Those that are competative can compete those that arent shouldnt have to because those that are competative will always own those that arent unless those that arent completely change their personalities and become competative. For me that may be hard after 28 years of personality programming from real life.
