Thread: Something to Consider...
I agree some parts of it. but forget everything i will say only thing
Imagine you are watching one of the episodes and a jedi is killed by 3 battle droids (same at DWB) what will you think after that scene?
NOTE : Remember episode 1!! Thescene ---> Qui gon, Obi and Naboo queen and some royal soldiers of queen are trying to enter the palace of theed. some battle droids tried to stop tham and Obi Wan (as a padawan noob) killed it only with one shot..

It used to take 2+ months minumum if you played for 8-10 hours a day, every day, to get to full template. For the average player, this was 6-8 months. It took many (including myself) 10+ hours to get the novice LS box alone. When you were done with your template, you had a character that was 3-5x more powerful than the average player.
Your saber then, contrary to popular belief, took the same amount of tunes to create... there were just more pearls on average and so it seemed to non-Jedi that the Jedi had it pretty easy making their sabers. Any time you died and cloned, you lost double your skillpoints x1000 in Jedi XP. Bounty Hunters could group TEF you, and you had to grind alone. In addition, terminals had your name listed, so it was easy for Bounty Hunters to note low skills level andtake out grinding padawans over and over and over until you were maxed at negative xp.
Now:
Now, it takes 6 quests at the village, 3 months waiting time doing nothing but maxing out your XP a few times a day, and then grinding for 2-3 weeks in a group where all you have to do it hit your target once, then sit and regen while your group tank kills everything else. You lose no XP upon cloning.
AND YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU AREN'T GODS ANYMORE?!?!?!?!?
WAKE UP PEOPLE! If you want Jedi to be powerful in a time no Jedi were supposed to exist, then either make the profession harder andthe dangers more prevalent, which is what they have done.
Jedi are SUPPOSED to be in hiding. Since when do you think you can go around swinging your lightsaber in Theed without the Empire going after you.
You respec'ing, post-CU, easily ground-outJedi have ruined and all enjoyment and pride kept by the pre-CU Jediin having a Jedi. Wake up and quit your whining before you break your own profession even further.

You obviously didn't hologrind. Wrong, sorry. I hologrinded for 6 months.
Every elite combat profession took me about 1-2 days. The only one that took longer than that was BH as the missions were longer with 10 minute shuttle & SP waits and bugged missions.
Crafting, I could do 2 professions a day if I played 8 hours. and if you grinded the combat professions first, you generally had more than enough money to pay for anyamount of crafting supplies you needed.
ID? 1 hour. TheDancer and Musician 3 days. Merchant 2 weeks.
Ranger: 1 month due to the fact there were no ranger resources. The only resources harvested were crafting qulaity, it 3 cpu.
Armorsmith: 5 million credits (back in a day where few people had over 1 million)
Droid Engineer: Another 5 million (refer to above)
etc...
fixed
QFMFE lol... start playing again troll

It can still be done very easily. Melee stacker temp, mbrawler, cob, polearms,swordsman,8k energy resist armor, a/b sliced, using stims while k/d is in effect, same foods but no force power bar to regulate. Melee stacker > Jedi.

LOL, if u think that a pre-cu jedi was 3x5 times more powerful than regular profs, you were smoking something good. Melee BH could easily OWN Fully templated FRS knights, guardians, etc. Yes, there was a huge advantage to ranged with the high block, but that gap was closing with new Legendary weapons dropping, WS krayted T-21's that could hit for 1500 damage, etc etc etc.
You make alot of good points, but this one is dead wrong.

The issue is not that Jedi want to be Gods (though that'd be fun), it's that the risks for being jedi are still inplace even though Jedi is a regular strength class. Risk vs Reward is not ballanced.

I have a pre-Pub 9 Jedi. Worked pretty hard to get 'em and get him to Dual Mastery.
I think there are more folks like me than post Post-CURB Jedi. I think folks like me are gonna bail from SWG now, because folks like you think it's fair for folks like me to get penalized by the actions of others which we have no control over.
It ain't right and if Publish 24 stands as it is, it's the end of SWG as a major MMPOG. Just that simple.
Welcome to the life of a Jedi before the CU... we had to deal with it. The CU made it too easy. Even with a BH death, until pub 24 a BH death hurt very little. Now you're understanding a tiny bit of how hard Jedi was and should be.

There is no reward yet there is huge risk.

I spent 6 months in the wild with my guild not knowing what I looked like. Then I spent another 3 months after I got strong enough to finish my grind with my wife *SPOTTING* lairs for me. She didn't help. And before that? 4 months of holo grinding.
And that was putting in some serious grindage after getting set back by a few ctd's and bsod's. I didn't have 8 hours a day to grind. I fit in 4-6 with a wife and 2 kids. There were times I couldn't even stand to log in. But I wanted Jedi and I worked towards my end goal.
Whiners like the quoted, quoted poster are the very reason this profession is dying. And you blame the few of us that have the balls to call it like it is? Your RISK is deminished...therefore your REWARD is too.
Skyyr is right weither you like it or not mr OneBH (and all the rest of you that are like him).

I was never on the terminals until i decided that I would try out the Warren(everybody said it was good.... wasn't good at the lvl I was at hehe, was only 0033 LS, novice everything else) But i figured i'd try it, and aside from the randomly spawning npc's(which does happen but they only cause you to get vis if you spent force, which the regular attack never did back then, i know we tested it out, friend of mine spend 4 days killing kunga and never got on the terminals. He just never initiated the attack, and never used anything other then the regular attack while in combat(that means no heals too))Now:Now, it takes 6 quests at the village, 3 months waiting time doing nothing but maxing out your XP a few times a day, and then grinding for 2-3 weeks in a group where all you have to do it hit your target once, then sit and regen while your group tank kills everything else. Both for getting jedi AND for being one. they need to up the difficulty of jedi, and just start deleting whining posts on the jedi forums. Then if people post whines multiple times, ban them from teh forums for a week.AND YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU AREN'T GODS ANYMORE?!?!?!?!?I understand perfectly, i just don't like what we've become(personally i would prefer perma death over this system, back then one low lvl jedi could take on 20 people at the same time, but they also had to deal with Saber TEF's, and perma death)WAKE UP PEOPLE! If you want Jedi to be powerful in a time no Jedi were supposed to existnot no jedi, just few. Even Episode 3 states that Yoda has no idea who all survived, he only knew abot obi-wan, Luke and Leia, and himself.... doesn't mean there weren't more, but i will agree there wouldn't have been too many more., then either make the profession harder andthe dangers more prevalent,Please do, i want more challenge which is what they have done.No they havn't they just made Jedi weak as heck. There are Jedi that only unlocked after the cu that were working on it for months. Also, i've met some jedi that really don't deserve to get jedi, but they were some of hte first to get it(because they got a lucky 5 profession unlock where I had to grind 25 and still fill 3 tree's at the village) Wake up and quit your whining before you break your own profession even further.Message Edited by Skyyr on 10-20-2005 09:14 AM
Ok, That all said the jedi community has brought this on themselves. Not that all of them wanted it, but a few did, a few whinned and moaned and got what they asked for, but it wasn't what they wanted. Some of us Jedi warned them early on what would be the result of their whining, but they didn't listen. But that doesn't matter eitehr as they still won't listen.
I say give us back skill removal for jedi who arn't full template(as the full template ones would like to PvP and that generates mega vis, getting to full template should be the problem, once you're there you should have it a little easier), a type of perma death(blue glowy death, don't actually loose all your skills. Say for example you die, you loose a skill, if you die 3 times in one week(reset every week) you go blue glowy and can't fight for 1 full week... something like that). AND with this give us back the power to take out a ton of people. I think that once a few jedi start loosing skill points(or not being able to play their toons for weeks at a time) they might stop being so likely to jump head first into combat in coronet.
