Thread: Major Issue Ability to Retrain FS Boxes Full Template Jedi

Consider...

Being promoted from Padawan to Knight is a big step in a Jedi's life. A Knight is an adept Force user, and should be a bit more open to the Force. So,in my opinion,a Knight should know more of the Force, then a new Padawan.

What if at Knight, or even Guardian,in the new FRS our FS skills turn to 0 skillpoints? That would allow us to learn an extra branch in most cases, therefore allowing us to be more ''open'' to the Force.

Opinions?

Jedi XP can not be converted to FS XP though.

I have always wondered why Fs boxes require skill points in order to become a jedi, when all other templates don't require 24 skill points to be wasted into 6 tree's.

I say give us the skill point's back, make all FS boxes zero skill poin'ts.

Just a thought.

FS skills = Jedi novice box!!!! I dont know how many times this has been said on the forms...

I took the time to grind out 7 branches pre-cu becuase i knew i wanted to drop persuasion for ranged def!!! it dose not take a smart person to know that ranged ef is more helpfule to a jedi than persuasion in this game!

the only people complaining are the ones that took the first skills they could to get the jedi unlock or that did not see that melee accuracy / speed / melee def / ranged def / all would be of more use to a jedi than luck, persuasion, Vehical controle ect...

Not true. I have Melee Accuracy, melee Speed, Melee defense, Ranged Defense, Vehicle control and Survival. I'm happy with my choices. Yet I agree that Jedi should be given a method of retraining their skills. I see no reason why JEDI XP is the only combat related XP (not counting Space) that has no conversionto FS XP.

Please keep in mind that Pre-Cu some skills (ranged Def, and Melee speed I believe)did nothing for a fully templated Jedi. They were considered unecessary skills. Nobody knew what or how the CU would change things. Now that the CU has hit, many Jedi are finding out that the information they based their selection on before the CU is no longer valid. But they will not be given a chance to change that. Also I'm not talking about a Respec for FS skills, but a conversion of Jedi Xp to FS XP which would allow Jedi to retrain their skills. Without thatmany of the pre-CuJedi arevirtually screwed.

Another problem is that no fully templated jedi has the necessary 4 Sp's to train a new FS branch. This could be addressed by using the NPC in the village (the guy who trains your FS Boxes). When you surrender your FS skills, your character would become immobile due to the skills not being valid, (Very simular to how it was done when the CU was launched) untilnew skills are trained. If you dont have enough FS XP, then the session is cancelled and you are told to come back when you are ready.

Bottom line. I really dont see why anyone would have a problem with Jedi being given the Same opportunity of the other classes. That being a method of converting Jedi Xp to FS XP and subsequently training new FS skills.

Aye, publish 8 Jedi like myself did not know the functionality of the FS boxes and made what were largely blind choices.

As for the peep who said "free up 4 skill boxes," read again. In order to get Luck, I would have to free up 15 pts. to be able to get novice Entertainer, to dance 15 million pts for FS Senses, or 15 pts for Novice Scout, or other mundane skills that we full template Jedi have long since forsaken. Add to this the 4 pts we need to free up for the 4 new FS boxes (we have to train 4 boxes to be able to release the other 4 we want to change out of,) so that's 19 skill points we have to free up. We have no skills save for Jedi skills, and Jedi XP does not allow us to get FS XP... go figure. So for any non-Jedi skills, we have to typically go at least Novice of some non-Jedi profession, and goodbye 19 pts of Jedi skills to do so. That is not rational.

Management change and credibility is expected & deserved, and really a requirement for me to desire to log in and not have my MMORPG time completely wasted. SWG's mismanagement, ongoing, lacks credibility. I have no desire to log into my toon, attempt to accomplish something, only to find out that my blue zebra, 12th level, with 20 badges, isn't going to be turned into tomorrow's 4th tier yellow monkey, and all the zebra's stuff is no longer of value. Without credibility, its just a duck hunt game that doesn't even keep score of how many shots land on a duck.

Ok maybe xur-soma didn't understand what I meant. I as with any jedi understand FS boxes = jedi padawan, that's just to easy to understand.

My complaint is simple, why do the fs boxes require skill points that do not help jedi in thier templates. A fully templated jedi has only 226 sp's into their profession, however; a non-jedi has 250 sp's into thier profession. I would like to see the FS boxes require ZERO SP'S like the spces boxes. Hopefully I explained myself this time, ty for reading.

Actually, you are inconsiderate on two points.

1) I did not grind FS, I was a pre-revamp Jedi who upon conversion to the new Jedi system, was presented with a dialogue box requiring me to on-the-spot select FS boxes to populate, with no fore-knowledge.

2) Your example is not accurate in at least two regards, a) your example of what would be "more use"shows "Luck" as the lesser use. On the contrary, I can't even lootin a group anymore, because all the groups defer lootingto the player who hasLuck, because the groups recognize thevalue of using Luck, and b) I don't know that at some point in the future, "Persuasion" will not be useful in a way as importantly as Luck, since we have no information on that at this time.

If I were to rechoose today, I would select:

  1. Melee Accuracy

  2. MeleeDefense

  3. Melee Speed

  4. Ranged Defense

  5. Luck (needed today)

  6. Persuassion (blind hope that it will have a purpose in high end content)

So, I neither agree with my forced on-the-spot assessment when I was presented with the dialogue box to change FS boxes back during the jedi revamp, or your assessment today. Decisions forced, impromptu, and in ignorance should afford the opportunity to reselect without giving up 19 skill points that were earned.
