Thread: Do the people who complain about powergamers live in the real world ?

I cannot fathom people crying about powergamers getting jedi slots.........
WHY ???
This is THE most ridiculous whinge ever...
NO matter what system the devs implement powergamers will achieve it quicker , unless you have a system where people are selected for being nice or something....
But since this goal is an automatic game mechanic there has to be progression along a set path... Obviously power gamers are gonna progress quicker along said path.
This DOESNT stop casual gamers achieving jedi... But you feel it necessary to complain that after a few weeks of playing the game you havent achieved the pinnacle it has to offer. Youre only crying cause youve not been one of the first... Well wake up... live in the real world...
By your rational people who walk marathons should cry unfair because people that run it, finish it quicker....
Be patient, and if you cant be then you dont deserve it anyway.
It's not a ridiculous whinge at all. Game developers want MMORPGs to become mainstream yet theyseem to design the best content of their games for asmall minority of power gamers.
Some casual players may have loved the Star Wars universe since 1977 but it's unlikely they'll ever unlock their slot. Let's face it,once the power gamers have all done it, there is bound to be some sort of cap to stop Jedi running amok.
Most of the current game design systems are fine if you can play hours and hours a day, every day. Devs have to decide who are these games are really aimed at.
Mymessage to the devsis let the power gamers and the like go play 'fantasy space grinder' and leave Star Wars to us casual gaming SW fans.
And I don't think that they designed content for power gamers.... Power gamers just happen to be the ones to access that content first.
