I cannot fathom people crying about powergamers getting jedi slots.........

WHY ???

This is THE most ridiculous whinge ever...

NO matter what system the devs implement powergamers will achieve it quicker , unless you have a system where people are selected for being nice or something....

But since this goal is an automatic game mechanic there has to be progression along a set path... Obviously power gamers are gonna progress quicker along said path.

This DOESNT stop casual gamers achieving jedi... But you feel it necessary to complain that after a few weeks of playing the game you havent achieved the pinnacle it has to offer. Youre only crying cause youve not been one of the first... Well wake up... live in the real world...

By your rational people who walk marathons should cry unfair because people that run it, finish it quicker....

Be patient, and if you cant be then you dont deserve it anyway.

Actually, not true--you can develop an equitable system. YOu could have a system that implements a handicap system, like golf.

Say the devs pick Y amount of hidden xp as their nominal amount. ThisY xp wouldtakesomeone playing 20 hours a week6 months to achieve. This Y xp is made up of professions learned, points of interest visited, etc.

Now to handicap this, you'd take the average number of hours a person plays over a week. If you are a casual player who plays 10 hours a week, then Y xp would be modified by .5, or cut in half. If you are a powergamer who plays 40 hours a week, then your Y handicap would by 2 or twice as much.

In this way, everyone reaches FSCS in 6 months.

This would be easy to implement I would think.

casual gamers do 1 month maby more for getting master in a prof. nd if u need 8 profs that would take um 8 months. The devs sayt casual gamers can get it too only it would take a bit longer. A bit longer um 7 months??

powergamer= 8 profs 1 month

casual gamer= 8 profs 8 months - 1 year

not really fair he

There would be 100+ jedi on every server if they implemented the "handicap".

100+ jedi = boring

Klean,

No there wouldn't be 100 + Jedi running around. The same effort is applied by all those involved, it is just not dependant how many hours you can afford to play.

effort does not equal total time played. The casual gamer can have a very intense 10 hours of play over a week, while still working as a doctor in the real world. The power gamer can play all he wants, take out the garbage when his mom tells him too, and compete against the other powergamers.

Power gamers DESERVE the jedi slot .... just like people who work 16 hrs a day Deserve to be rich

Why should someone who plays 10 hrs a week have more than someone else who has made SWG there #1 priority and playes 80 hrs a week ?

You get out what you put in .... most things in life are that way ... and anyone whining that they cant be jedi for playing 10 hrs a week is a Cry babie

$hit im guna cry cus working 1 day a week isnt getting me a new Ferari and a leer jet and modle chicks are fighting over me Waaaaa It so unfair !! why cant we all be jedi and sleep with Britney spears Waaaaa

people that do that sort of thing did not really earn their money they usually luck into it through genetics. examples of this is folks that make their living through their physical looks. some that sport ferraris and such are granted theirs because of some sports thing or other that they lucked into. it took them no true effort other than getting lucky in high school or college to be seen by a proffessional sports scouter. folks that actually work to make their money generally do not waste it on crap like ferraris as they tend to have more sense than to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on junky italian sports cars and women with more plastic in them than a toysRus...

however this isnt real life it is a game. if you want a real life game go play the sims.

/agree If they put in twice as much time as you and mastered twice as many things as you they deserve it. And if your complaining about not having as much time as these so called power gamers, college is a great way to get rid of one of your 3 jobs so you'll have more time....lol quit crying

Actually, those folks that opened their slots early by playing a lot will considerably reduce the time it takes the casuals to potentiallyget their FSCS by doing the research and blind alley work for them. They have done us all a service.

Jealousy is a self-blinding thing. It takes away your self-awareness as it has here. The idea that every player on SWG should have an open slot in a month is ludicrous in the extreme. That theory isn't about a level playing field, that is about the lowest common denominator.

Frankly, you have a LOT to learn about RL that will be difficult for you. Enjoy.
