This is descoping to create a game that the current staff at SOE can actually manage. It is quite obvious that since the original dev team was decemated by SOE mgmt that our current dev team cannot handle the job.
The other big reason to descope the game is so that it can fit onto PS and PSP.
Eventually we will see all crafting go away and it will become a loot based combat game with no economy.

For all the benefit we get for putting in my 2 years I couldnt care less if it fails. First on any server to reach 125 badges. Top pvp rating on the server on my jedi and what is it worth?

the money menhave obviously turned their attention to the decline of this product. they will personally take control of the daily decision making of this project and after a few weeks determine that cutting losses is the best option. the japan servers are already down. there is no other explanation for these changes. so long, swg.
I dont see how you can compare the video game biz to television... apples and oranges.

well for some people it might be. I just hate seeing what I spent 1.5 years on go up in smoke because developers make bad choices.

Entertainment. Investors see it as entertainment bottom line. Dev service = a program to keep the viewers happy.

I guess lost in all this is the one fact that the 9 corros who played it thought it was really, really great.

Which ever way the ball bounces I know Im going to get screwed. But I will stick with it cause anyone who did 30 proffs to unlock has to be stubborn. And the thought of starting a new game sickens me.

They're all known for maintaining positive attitude even when under fire though. They watch their professions get nerfed and fall quietly down without truly speaking up on it from our point of view. The last 6 months has been a true shining of that.

Btw I will duel anyone anywhere any time. And what is that worth? Nothing.
