working in television for nearly a decade, i've seen thishappen a few times...
the money menhave obviously turned their attention to the decline of this product. they will personally take control of the daily decision making of this project and after a few weeks determine that cutting losses is the best option. the japan servers are already down. there is no other explanation for these changes. so long, swg.

It's not a troll post. Microsoft did the same thing to Asheron's Call. Turbine lucked out because they cut a deal on LoTR/MEO/DDO that let them buy AC and AC2 back from MS. In the end it cost them AC2, and maybe MEO and DDO, but MS did the same thing. It's the truth.

the game changes will probably help the game. I mean they cant really hurt it too much, most the dedicated people are starting to leave and you never know how long the new people will be around. The game will end in a few months if they dont change it, this might actually help it. It seems to me like this is an effort to save the game, not destroy it. There is too much pressure for this game to work because it is star wars. If they pull the plug it will make lucas arts and SOE look bad. I mean honestly, how bad would you have to do to ruin an almost instant selling concept for a star wars game.

This is a slap in the face for all those jedi including myself who grinded for god knows how many hours to get my jedi only to make it a gd starting profession. Im not coming back to this crap. The only fun left in the game was being hunted by bounty hunters and now thats gone. Its KOTOR online now.

Sorry--your logic seems odd.
Large investment in re-coding and developing a new combat system and interface = cutting losses and running?
I could buy into a conspiracy theory built around the comment slipped into the announcement that it would take six months for all the changes to be in place, to the effect of six more months of pulling on the crusty old teat is more milk than we would have if they get bored and quit in another two if we don't do something, but you'll have to connect the dots a little better for us to buy a helmet just because you say the sky is falling.

The same thing was said during the last CU and the game goes on. This time the changes do not appear to be as drastic. That is unless you are Jedi. At least you will not longer be hunted by the dreaded xp draining BH. Maybe the game will get better now for all players.

the changes do not appear to be as drastic??! they just cut 23 professions from the game, changed over from a skill based system to a class based system, made jedi a character class that any starting player can play and switched from turn based combat to target and twitch. what exactly is your definition of drastic?
