I wonder how BHs would feel if the shoe was on the other foot. This is a purely rediculous change, one that will lead to many cancelled accounts if it goes through. This is even more ludicrous than adding the snare to cloak, especiallly since snare can be chained. NO melee class will have ANY sort of chance in this game once this change goes live. (I'm not only speaking about jedi here.)

I would support the snare if they increase the movement hinderance on all ranged professions.

Hmmm.....let's see. A BH can snare from 70m with a ranged arm. A jedi can snare from 32m. With the chain snare wars, does a Jedi REALLY have a snare? I think NOT. A Jedi will NEVER even get into range to get a snare onto the BH, and even if the Jedi can, what good will it do? That will only slow the BH to the same speed as the Jedi (Plus the BH will have the terrain negotiation mods as a bonus) so the BH will stay out of the Jedi's range. This is PURELY rediculous. There is NO way that a ranged character should have a snare. What are they shooting? Bolos?

That might work it if was a significant movement hinderance. Plus, armor should ALWAYS cause a hinderance. Mastery should only reduce this hinderance, not eliminate it completely. There should always be some trade off for wearing armor (aside from decay, which doesn't exist at all for the rich with totally ADK'ed armor sets). A character wearing armor would NEVER move as well as one without armor, no matter how much training.

So just run the other way...who said you had to follow him. Get him to follow you to a more enclosed area like a starport where you can keep his line of sight very small.

Gee who would have thought PvP would require some thinking.

Can you really use two arms at once? Aren't they only for one side? Geeze...I hadn't even thought about that.....It only gets worse.

That is the point, you CAN'T run the other way. You are snared and cannot out run the BH. He is faster since he's not snared. He has terrain negotiation and a 38-65m range advantage on the melee character. There IS no way to run the other way. He'll just follow. There is no way to get to an enclosed area unless you stay within range of one ALL of the time since you will be moving at 2m per second and will be dead within 50m.

This means that PvP doesn't require any thinking-for the ranged character at least. All they need to do is catch a melee character away from an enclosed structure, snare and fire away from out of striking distance. There is NO way for the melee character to EVER get into range to attack and NO way to EVER get out of range to disengage.

Do you not see the problem here? All melee characters will have to hang out in the starports to have any chance in PvP....

Last time i checked my stasis lasted longer than his snare...giving me enough time to get to a favorable spot to fight.

Let's clarify this for you since you seem to have a comprehension disability.

In the changes in the works now, a snare will remove your FR ability, no matter which FR it is, as well as burst run ability.

Because ranged BHs can attack from a range greater than 32m, which is the farthest any Jedi powers extend, ranged BHs will be ableto snare you, removing your FR, while outside of the Jedi's range to affect them at all. Because snares can be chained and even alternated with roots, the Jedi will never close the gap with the BH.

Even if the BH manages to stupidly wander into range of the Jedi (the 32m max), the end result will be that both combatants will be snared--two objects moving at the same speed will maintain the same relative distance between them unless both objects "agree" to do otherwise. In other words, so now you're both snared/rooted--so what? Unless he wandered all the way in to 5m or less, the best you'll be able to do is saberthrow, which does not do enough damage to kill someone.

Is that clear? Do you understand why stasis and Jedi roots and snares are moot? What is that? That's right--it's because we are limited to 32m...and BHs are not. And, no, this is not just a Jedi problem, it is a problem for ALL melee professions. In fact, it's an even bigger problem for swordsmen, pikemen, fencers (if there are any still around), and TKs--those guys don't even have a 32m pansy attack.

Okay - I generally don't get into these messes - but this is just f*-ed up..........If they gives these kind of debuffs/roots, then they should boost jedi sabre block abilities as well as heals/cures- BALANCE IT!!!!!

I like change, We need much Change in this game alot, So im ready for it to come.. I fully support the devs and their changes with this..

Change is good whether liked or not.

Totally agree with you.

As it stands now, we can own any 3 BHs. We are way overpowered with Defender skills. I call fora complete rebalance pass of Defender Jedi. Its not a challenge fighting BH's, so we need a little NERFING. Geez guys you all know how ridiculously overpowered we are right now. Lets be honest and take a few lumps for the good of the game.
