Thread: I am terrified to grind another template that is later found to be not working as intended

Excellent post. We can bring this back even further though...what is the intended role of Jedi.
In all the training I have ever had...enough that I should be a Ph.D. on the subject (joke), They have taught me that the enemy will use everything they have at their disposal to destroy you, and even invent new ways of killing you to boot. That is the soldiers task and training...now, from examples of World Politics, it seems that is you are "teh Uberz" and someone else gets something that is close to what you have, they not only cry nerf, but threaten you with death and destruction over it, ie North Korea.
Jedi is an alpha class, but it also has to rely on the individual skill of the player to be effective and to realize that "alphaness". Poor tactics or average player skill will gimp a template to below a standard class. The reason there are so many tough and effective Bounty HUnters is that many of them, the vast majority, have been immersed in PVP longer than most of the younger padawans. They are being outmatched but mostly by superior knowledge of their templates. They have just been doing this longer than the paddy's.
What it all comes down to is a lack of communication. Each and every profession should have a constantly updated Vision/Mission Statement by the lead designer for said profession.
I guess I'm just lucky that they nerfed my template before I could start grinding it. hehe.

Trace...This is why I have said, since the beginning, to find a template that plays to your own personal strengths. Look at your playstyle when you were playing elites. Which professions did you feel the most comfortable with and what tactics worked best for you. Base your template on that, not what anyone else is doing. If you are comfortable and effective in a playstyle, you will be more effective with that style of a jedi.

Hmm, all temps are like this a bit, but they did up the other temps and drop Jedi so that it is not nearly as alpha as it was. Jedi used to be an ALPHAclass not an alpha class. The difference in power today vs. one lone year ago is staggering.

So will a lack of vital resources to said class, especially in a numbers game of weapon power vs. armor.

The vast majority of them (good BH)have the time, money, and gear. I know, I am one. I also havetwo things that most new Jedi don't have as well. 2 years as a BH thus knowing the ins and outs of that prof like few others. I also have a weapon that puts some of thebest lightsabers to shame damage/cost wise. I'm not even an uber PvP'er and I can kill most Jedi before they realize it.

Having a 1.3sec, 1200 damage, 70 SAC, ADK'ed rifle doesn't hurt either.

I still thinkPVP in swghas to do more with the template/equipment than player skill.
try Mhealer Mpowers 4004 sabers and say it's all about skill and learning your template.
I like a challange, because pvpin swgis a bitweakcompared tousuallFPS games, one of the reasons i went MP MLS.
pre cu i would pvp with my riflewoman alt with some healing. it just makes things a bit more interesting.
sure i could have been a defense stacker but hell anyone can defense stack. I've always ran around with little to no defense.

It is a factor, but I have seen some of the "worst" templates beat the crud out of me because they knew what they were doing. ...it was interesting and surprising. A friend has a bazaar Powers template that beats me badly everytime (unless I cheat)
show me someone who can kill someone else without having to heal.
not having any healing is suicidal, no amount of skill will make up for not having healing in your template.
templates are more influential than skill.
armor break is more influential than player skill.
i'm mainly focused on J v J since i think the FRS is gonna be pure PVP and one on one.
