How can we stop cloaked Jedi from stopping a base count down if they can de-cloak at the terminal and reset the timers almost immediately before we can kill him/her??

That's where I see this going. Other than that, I agree, cloaked Jedi should not be able to reset the timers on a PvP base.

a) Operating any terminal or loot box should uncloak a cloaked Jedi.
b) Base destruction shutdown needs to be more involved (to start a base countdown you have to complete several mini-games). You could require somebody to use the terminal for 10 seconds straight without getting into combat mode - if this happens, the base countdown stops.

If not how can pvp bases possibly be blown when reb jedi just need to run in after the base is counting down and reset it while cloaked. We have had this used on us by BDP jedi over and over and is leading to a serious imbalance in the gcw metagame. If we cannot buy tickets cloaked, then why can people reset the base countdown? This seems a rather serious abuse IMO. I am, and have been jedi a very long time, and as such am loathe to ask for any further "adjusting" to what is left of our profession, however, this is one of those items I cannot ignore asking for as it is unbalancing a much larger aspect of the game.

Rule of Thumb: If you have to ask, it is an exploit.

When Feign Death was used in this way we asked the terminal be moved downstairs, well it is still upstairs on the large bases. It is not an exploit to have your whole team standing there, and if they would only add the "you must stand at the terminal for two minute timer" the cloaker would drain away.
I have cloak and I must say this truly sux, The GCW boards hate us enough to not have this happen.

So you cant click the "I win" button after all the hard work put into it from another group?

And if your going to use 'real life' logic, you would be seen by other Jedi 'sensing' you ala Vader to Obi-Wan. Or felt running through a player standing there.

Oh and ask that about the ticket terminals, /wink.

I think there is a very fine line between exploiting, and strategy.Resetting timers while cloaked seems wrong, but I don't think I'd call it an exploit - it's really a result of poor thinking on the devs part. If this was a bug being used to ones advantage, I'd scream exploit too, but I'd call this an imbalance, not exploit.

The definition of "exploit" in this game, even if it was defined by the almighty devs, is poorly conceived. The devs didn't think it out, someone gains an advantage using normal means and abilities, and it's called an exploit? I call it poor work on the devs part. They control what's possible, and what isn't, the players just play.

On the other hand, 2 people dueling and using area attacks to kill a cloaker is just good old fashioned strategy in my opinion, especially if the cloaker is stupid enough to stick around to die.

It's easy enough, as the group attacking the base, to prevent this. Once you have the timer started, stand by the HQ terminal. Have people duel each other and use area attacks, the cloaker will not live long enough due to the fact that they still take damage from area attacks.

Isn't that using one exploit against another exploit? haha

Exactly. Its not a "fix" to the current situation. This thread is to get attention and awareness. We should not have to exploit to combat anotherexploit.

We should be pushing to have issues fixed, not give them a run around.

QFE - to the whole post, but especially to the part I highlighted. Being able to stop the base destruction sequence while cloaked is not a bug, but a poor design. No bug means no exploit. But poor designs should be fixed along with exploitable bugs.

Hey Sher, I'll give you some more in VENT, but this is ONE of my ideas.

Have your team stand in front of the term and duel each other. Have your entire team do this while it's counting down and stagger them throughout the hallway. Have everyone Area KDing. Do this over and over until the base blows. If a cloaker tries to run bye, he will be kd'd and if he uses KD Recovery, he will uncloak. If he doesn't he will get capped.

Ofcourse, if he is "on leave" this might not work like this. I know that when our group is attacking a mob and the mob aoe's and Im cloaked, I take damage. It might not be the same if the jedi is "on leave". We will have to test it.

"On leave" or "combatant" Jedi cannot enter a SF base to reset the timer.

why should wearing armor prevent use of jedi heals?

why should only one saber throw be a KD?

why shouldn't a saber just cut somone in half?

It's not in the interest of logic, "well, pushing a button is no different then..... "

It's not in the interest of immersion.

It's in the interest of balance.

If you have two jedi that can cloak.... the two of them could hold a base indefinately.

Heck maybe even a single jedi with meditate/channel and cloak could do it forever.

Seems unbalanced to me.
