It is not a bad idea. But im not sure if the reasoning behind it would be to keep more Jedi logged off or to slow the progress?
Personally I would like to see the XP loss moved to DB instead of cloning, this would force Padawans to be more careful while grinding and slow down FRS Farmers

Yeah, the xp dept does suck at timesbut it does encourage you to work together as a group because one person dying has concequences. You have to watch out for your buddies.
And if you have some guy that always dies, kick him out and never group with him again.
I enjoy the aspect of death have consequences. It makes the game more challenging.

Dying and losing xp already slows their progress. So there is no change there. xp debt would just ease the pain a bit for grinding padawans and jedi that pvp alot.
Yes, move the xp loss to DB.
