I've been search for anyone who has done some testing and has some real data on the matter...but is MLS REALLY worth it? Or should I just get MLS, make good sabers, then respec away from it? (Yeah I saved my respec token!) Thoughts? Ideas? Point me in the right direct to some other threads?
I believe so. The speed and accuracy alone make it worth it, but the ability to do a ranged nockdown is without paralell. That alone has saved me from many a bounty hunter. Drop them while on the run, and just keep running.
But it also means kiteing is going to be hard. You can only use one saber throw. And if you keep using Advanced Saber throw, you won't be able to plan a KD attack when you need it the most.
Who said anything about kiting? I'm talking about running and screaming PLEASEDONTKILLMEEEEEEEEE!!!
If you're going to fight, stand and fight. If you're going to kite, you picked the WRONG damn profession.

I have given this one alot of thought.
It isnt worth it. Its gives me about 30 more damage and a nice ranged KD. But it takes so very much in points.
My advice would be to take 2 lines of sabres and get a template that includes force speed. Force speed will get you more DPS than MLS ever could.

Say that to the MDefenders who are snared and don't have any type of lunge attack to reach a BH who has CM. That LS throw is all they got going for it.
What does that have to do with kiting?

...It means the strategy for dealing with BH who snare with CM. And as a MLS has only one default attack for long range hits. Means you'll be KD'ing over and over, then when the right time to KD is there, you've already used the KD and got to wait for the timer.
About my only complaint is that we need more specials in the master box (advanced power attack for one), and we need a MIND regen debuff attack (head hit should do this).
Most of the deficincies will be solved when the pearl drops are fixed. Right now, I am at a definate disadvantage as a post-CU MLS to a Master Powers Jedi in PvP.
However, if pearl drops stay as they are, I could see myself dropping to LS 0/4/4/4 and switching to Master Defender...
But I do love MLS. It's the kind of Jedi I wanted to be, but we definately should be dealing more damage than we do. Getting within melee range of a MLS Jedi should be a virtual death sentance.

Takea template that you will ENJOY.

I think both MP and MLS should have defuffs and recoveries in them, as the normal elite professions do.
I'm a firm believer in 1 master + dabbler is the way to go. Right now, I have MLS soley b/c I think its the best pick of the 5.
