Aura is working. it just really doesnt do much against lower lvl mobs. on a lvl 22 mob i usually get hit for 18 damage with or without Aura. On a lvl 82 elite mob the damage goes from ~309 to ~127

Alright, FA2 will stay then. Alright, then the next question on this, should i drop novice defender and rely completely on FA? or does the 20 extra armor make a differerence?

If you can use the points elsewhere then drop it but it does help.

I like the extra innate armor and defenses from novice def.

I am in the process of dropping Mdef and switching over to M Enhancer. Plan to still run Aura but that is all the Def tree I will keep. FA2 takes a little time to get used to. The force drain is significant when fighting high level MOB's but it seems to work well.

you only get an additional +10 from novice defender. It does help yes, but it depends on what your other skill trees look like, 8 skillpoints could potentially give you much if it can be spent in high tier boxes. I chose to drop defender completely because it allowed me to get FR1, which is very useful.

I am really surprised to see people speaking so highly of FA2 over Aura. Granted I am a MD at this time but aura is so much more efficient than FA2 from a force cost stand point. I guess it depends on how you play. I like being extremely force conservative. I can fight and fight and fight with little force drain. Last night I fought for a good hour and a half straight without having to regen.. only had to after that because I had to use AI a few times in the only the most desparate instances. I fully understand though if you are already in the enhancer line and dont want to venture any defender at all.

Current template: LS 0 4 0 0 Master powers enhancer 3 4 0 2 defender novice heal 4 0 0 0.



Now i have some SP to spare. But where? Was thinking of moving enhancer to 3 4 0 4. But still, somewhere it doesnt feel right to have so little defender..guess I was too used to the FOTM.



Advice regarding aura vs fa with this template?

Things to consider:


Aura will increase your defense this does two things: 1. Decreases your chance to be hit. 2. Reduces the damage you take. (Damage is modified by Attacker's Acc vs Defender's Def score respectively.) The force cost is static. 150 force cost for 60 secs.


Force Armor increases your innate armor rating reducing the amount of damage you take. Without any defense you will get hit... and get hit for max damage!!! You also suffer Force cost loss for the damage reduced. It has 150 force costPLUS 8 force per 100 points of damageblocked. (Improved Version)


My opinion:

It has been my experience that FA is Ok if you have great support and have the ability to move, or 1v1 when you have a very good saber. Aura issuperior in the event you are forced into a toe to toe knock down. (you take less damage, so you don't need to heal as often and have the chance to last long enough for root/snare to break) With the way Roots and Snares work I would take Aura over Armor. (Unless you can out damage your opponent... which won't happen in a crowd)

Well...after rethinking it abit, I'm going to end up with MLS 4040Heal MEnhancer. I think the ruccurring cost to run aura and FA2 are going to be too much

Alright, i can shift it around to LS 0 4 0 0 , heal 4 0 0 0. Master powers. Enhancer 4 0 0 4 defender 0 0 4 0. But i have 5 sp to spare that way! Still, what do you think of it?

Again... It honestly depends on your playstyle. Whats your saber damage?

I get by just fine, even toe to toe with MD/MLS with my MEH/MLS

I see that you wanna go master powers with this..
in MY opinion. I would go with NO defender and either pick up SAP (xx4x Healer) or Improved Suppression (4xxx Enhancer)

With the type of template you are looking towards, I might even consider this template

MP / 0400 Saber / 4020 healer / 3404 Enhancer

With powers, your cooldown and warmup is going to be your biggest hate... if you pick up 3xxx enhancer you have Improved Force Speed which will REALLY help there.
