Thread: Force Aura vs Force Armor2, pvp.
Aura is working. it just really doesnt do much against lower lvl mobs. on a lvl 22 mob i usually get hit for 18 damage with or without Aura. On a lvl 82 elite mob the damage goes from ~309 to ~127

If you can use the points elsewhere then drop it but it does help.

I like the extra innate armor and defenses from novice def.

If you went with Powers or Enhancer you were not planning on being a tank anyway... FA2 is enough to keep you protected when someone is pounding on you. I am in the process of dropping Mdef and switching over to M Enhancer. Plan to still run Aura but that is all the Def tree I will keep. FA2 takes a little time to get used to. The force drain is significant when fighting high level MOB's but it seems to work well.

you only get an additional +10 from novice defender. It does help yes, but it depends on what your other skill trees look like, 8 skillpoints could potentially give you much if it can be spent in high tier boxes. I chose to drop defender completely because it allowed me to get FR1, which is very useful.
Current template: LS 0 4 0 0 Master powers enhancer 3 4 0 2 defender novice heal 4 0 0 0.
Now i have some SP to spare. But where?
Was thinking of moving enhancer to 3 4 0 4. But still, somewhere it doesnt feel right to have so little defender..guess I was too used to the FOTM.
Advice regarding aura vs fa with this template?
Things to consider:
Aura will increase your defense this does two things: 1. Decreases your chance to be hit. 2. Reduces the damage you take. (Damage is modified by Attacker's Acc vs Defender's Def score respectively.) The force cost is static. 150 force cost for 60 secs.

Well...after rethinking it abit, I'm going to end up with MLS 4040Heal MEnhancer. I think the ruccurring cost to run aura and FA2 are going to be too much
I get by just fine, even toe to toe with MD/MLS with my MEH/MLS
I see that you wanna go master powers with this..
in MY opinion. I would go with NO defender and either pick up SAP (xx4x Healer) or Improved Suppression (4xxx Enhancer)
With the type of template you are looking towards, I might even consider this template
MP / 0400 Saber / 4020 healer / 3404 Enhancer
With powers, your cooldown and warmup is going to be your biggest hate... if you pick up 3xxx enhancer you have Improved Force Speed which will REALLY help there.
