Thread: HYBRID NERF: what, when and why?
Well, Luke was a pistoleer Jedi and Obi-wan used a carbine on grevious....and it didn't take him 20 shots to do it either!
I do think the hybrid nerf is to get rid of cloaking bounty hunters or Mdefender/mcm/pistoleers from owning pvp.

I did my grind in 2 months on Dantooine and NEVER had a BH come for me. Even with ppl exiting the group in the middle of a lair right next to me, NPCS popping up and ppl following the group around.
So you can grind without getting on the terms. You just have to be aware of your surroundings (which you should be anyways). If you get visit by Mister /Miss BH during your grind it is entirely your own fault. You either were not paying attention,
or didn't care. if Random NPCs pop up on you in the middle of a lair there are things that you can do to lessen the impact of them being there. Like get away equip norm weapon and kill them then go back to grinding.

I think there might be a big difference between using a blaster and being a pistoleer or any other elite profession. Personally I think all jedi are hybrids . . . they just have specific profession that they draw from. Rather than medic . . . you have healer. Rather than TK . . . you have defender, ect. ect.

oh and what about the players who use cloack to come up on a group of jedi hunting just to give them vis or those players that are not in your group that fly around your lair for 10 minutes to give all the jedi vis intentionally. Yeah you can hurry and unequip your ls and robe and just stand there till they leave or move on yourself only to see them following you. Some players think its great to ruin and waste other peoples game time. What should be done about that?
Are BH/defenders that much better than other templates including full template jedi. If they are truly the problem wouldn't it be simpler to just require MBHs to drop the master box in order to learn jedi skills? It would leave all the other completely viable and interesting templates available and stop the problem of too powerful BHs, if that is the case.
Jedi using normal weapons does not seem to go against canon. The only reason left i could see is that you save your self a bunch of Jedi skill grinding that some may think unfair for such solid templates and SOE's assumed want to make us grind junkies.
I am doing carbineer/jedifor4 reasons:
I prefer guns
My character has been a carbineer since septempber 2003
I want to be unique
I would like to grind less
For this I will have a less powerful Jedi over all and be left out of future FRS systems to come. it just seems like they are punishing people for their own shortcomings if they nerf hybrid templates. They took FRS offline, made jedi grinding tedious, made too few good jedi combos for the numbers of us they have allowedand made sabers suck. With the possible exception of the BH/jedi, they are taking away a good response to these problems that actually are balanced against other full jedi templates.
i love tkm and ill be a jedi soon, as for the hybrid i think it should stay and one thing they cant nerf, or i hope they never will be tkm with fs skills and some jedi skills for roleplayingand content ability. tkm with lightning, cloak, super speed,cheaper sp healing!

Even with some jedi skills it's still hard to do the dmg. Saying that a N-K Nightblade might help
But i still love TKM, pre and post CU
Your all jumping the gun before its fired, we dont know whats gonna happen yet so chill.
It proabbly will be that you wont be able to use jedi skills while wielding rifle/carb/etc
and Obi-wan didnt use any force abilities when killing Grevvy with the carbine, and it was probably
just based on his combat lvl not his skills such as an Elite Carbine.
Luke was just a noob paddy, so he still had his pre-jedi skills left but he never used his force abilities
while wielding a blaster.

shove what you said back up yourself, been a jedi since way before patch 9, and i never got visability then even with random mobs of NPCs popping up and the such, oh and i had no other skills, just plain jedi too, so i couldn't switch to a non jedi weapon and be cool. you new jedi are whiners like no other
