Thanks for the good info. I guess my question is, did defender change in the last couple months or was I just not paying attention before? Seems a little odd that A mastery would be matched by a dabbler style template, I know the defenses are a bit lower, but I think w/ diminishing returns the diference is slight, am I off base on that?

I dont think either of those things effect how many times you get hit. Aura would effect the amount of damage you take and infusion is healing.

The Accuracy / Defense difference doesnt work on diminishing returns, and the Def 0040 / Enh x4xx dabbler pays for the saved skill points by having a little Force cost for every hit he takes. Furthermore, Force Armor can be breached while Defender Armor cannot be breached. The MDef also gets Force Valor. No changes made in Defender apart from the AI nerf since CU, though, but enhancements to Force Armor (doesnt drain as much Force per hit anymore).

Well, if you run force aura, you will notice a big difference. Also, if you are fighting a ranged fighter, force valor DOES make a difference. The nice thing is, you don't have to worry about your forcebar from getting beat up and the fact that you get hit less also helps a lot. The thing with your enhancer friends, is they can hit you really fast compared to your half templet saber. It doesn't help to be able to take a beating if you can't give one back.
this is a good point , how does MLS saber block compare to valor?
Impoved Force Valor = 25%
MLS Block = 25%
MLS + Imp Valor = 50%

Actually Force Armor was fixed. When you left force armor was not working so Master Defender offered the highest defense.
the addition to +40 inate armor in one tree drastically changed the options.

so innate armor isnt effected by armor break, I thought it was.
Yes it is. the poster was refering to powers "breach"
