Thread: Playing Jedi as jedi should be played ... Astonishment !!
AHMEN Deepfry!!! I do the same thing with my jedi character, and i play the same was as you do.
I am a dark jedi to the end, and will play out my character as such. Not an "uber" PvP character to go around pwning n3wbs.

But I don't whine, I just play the game as it is... and well, I play on TC-Prime, not like there are many people to see me anyway.
Well, on a serious note...
My friend on Eclipse never had a single BH come after him until he was done with his template and started doing his Knight trials. I only seen him with his title and robe on one time and it was in his house (or in screenshots he sent me). I *really* miss the day where as a Jedi you had to try to keep your identity concealed, but now you get in full groups on a starting planet and grind away with 7 other people seeing you do it.
Many posts have asked me what I do ... someone even stated "So you never go questing or group hunting?".
Where did I say that i never quest or group hunt?
I said I have never shown my tag ... since when have we needed tags to go questing?
I said I never duel in front of non-jedi. What has that got to do with hunting or questing?
I said I have never worn robes "in public" ... again, that has not stopped me from questing or hunting.
If you re-read my post, I am simply saying that making posts which are "moan complain moan complain flame flame moan complain threaten to cancel account moan complain flame flame" is neither constructive, nor very jedi-like (in my humble opinion).
I am also saying that reactions like "omg I can no longer duel ina starportin front of a zillion people" is no big deal ... I dont believe that choosing to duel in front of a load of noobs is a very jedi-like attitude either. Neither in book nor film have I ever seen or read about jedi who are duelling, who say "hang on, lets just **edit** off to the busiest starport we can find so that everyone can see how cool we are".

I support the OP's code of conduct and have been following it myself. My guildmates are doing the same, but that's because I'm fortunate to belong to a guild of mature players.
Re-read the original post. It's not about avoiding game content. It's about not being a complete tool.
I understand why they are bashing him. While I agree with his philosophy, I do not agree with the tone taken that his is the only correct philosophy. Very much in the way the PvP-centric Jedi arebashing PvE-centric Jedi and telling themhow to play their game, the OP is espousing his as the only "correct" way to play the game.... in essence telling others how to play their game. It gets worse, you've intimated that it is linked to maturity, which is of course completely groundless.
Play your game. Let others play theirs.

Tough I just have started the padawan ways about 2.5 months ago, I have a lot of fun. Due to some accidents out of my control (npc spawning too close, PCs having fun driving into me while radar doesn't update) I must have gotten visibility, but still have to find the first BH coming after me...
And I'm halfway dropping my skills of the non-jedi sp spent! I can get 2 tier 4 jedi boxes and then i have to giveup my last non-jedi profession...
So it can be done

Well all they have to do is to remove Jedi from BH terminals and you will never see my lightsaber or any of my force power lightshows (why force power usage results in a 4th of July fireworks display is another issue) in any of the starports. But for as long as I can be jumped by a BH any placeat any time - my saber stays equipped and aura and infusion macros stay on as well as force armor. If that offends you petition SOE to remove forceded PvP from Jedi. Until that happens we play the game in the style forced upon us by the existing system.

To everyone that's tried to disagree with the OP, I think you just need to acknowledge that if you feel the need to take shots at his playstyle, you're probably the kind of person he's talking about. He's not talking about RPing all the time, or avoiding participating in the game. He's talking about using his character to have fun; as opposed to using it just to prove that he's better than some newbies because they haven't spent 6 months grinding yet.
I think this is an excellent post that really gets to the heart of what most Star Wars fans would like to see out of Jedi in this game. No one is impressed by seeing 30 kids with sabers dueling in front of the starports anymore. What we'd like to see is people get back to actually playing the game. Spending all your time trying to show off doesn't make the game more fun for anyone.
Do what ever you want if you want to duel go ahead but you get vis so what. You will get vis anyway in grinding groups.
Play your jedi how you like it's not the reason jedies are getting nerfed. Jedis got bugs that need fixing cuase they don't work. when other proofs get something jedies are left in the dust making them weaker.
