Oh spare me, they want continuity but they don't want continuity? What is the deal here?
I'm afraid I don't see the merit of your argument. There is a logical reason as well as a gameplay reason why they would add this. The continuity argument was never mentioned. It makes sense (logical reasoning) that focusing on invisibility would prevent running at full speed. Do you study nuclear physics while running a marathon? No. and the continuity argument has nothing to do with the gameplay issue of needing balance.
i mentioned ben as an example, not as a reason. There's a huge difference. Continuity was never my argument.
Obiwan didn't use cloak. He used He used the mind-trick to persuade the ST's that he wasn't there. Same as he did in Tatooine when they ran up against that checkpoint. So your argument is a moot point.
That said, Cloak is pointless to have if you can't get away from the person trying to kill you. And you CAN'T get away while snared now can you? If they want to add a snare to fix the DWB exploiters then so be it, but they also need to make you impervious to damage, and make the Cloaking ability actually WORK. And that means stopping the exploiting BH's who get around cloak by AOE's DOT's and /follow /target.

When Obi-Wan was going through the Death Star, was he running around? No, he was walking. Convincing people that you're not there requires contant focus, and a lot of willpower. This saps your ability to run full speed. That's the "realism" argument
And was he moving slower than someone crawling on the ground, or walking at normal speed?
Snare (like AI Snare) reduces your movement to the speed of moving while prone. I didn't seen Obi-Wan moving this slow....
Unless you really understand how major of an impact this nerf is, you should probably not comment, or everyone here will just chalk you up as one of the 'nerf whiners' that bring this stuff to the game.
Actually if I remember right Obiwan did a little quick-walk/jump move that made him seem pretty spry for an old geezer. But he still didn't use any "cloak" skill.
Now Darth Maul in the EU had a cloaking ability.

Cloak IS a mind trick. Which is why you're not going to be revealed by Ranger chaff, like Helios said. Theoretically, they could have made itsoyou could /mindTrick an individual and be invisible to them, but nobody else. That would have been tedious. Cloak is essentially an area effect mind trick that you pay uptick for every time you have to focus on making yourself invisible.
As we've discussed, a "snare" is just a word. Saying you "won't be able to get away" is only true if the snare is too powerful. If it's balanced, the snare just impedes your movement, making it so you don't use cloak all the time. I know many Jedi who cloak and run from lair to lair. This will stop cloak from being an "all the time" thing to just being an "as needed" skill.
I've already said the other issues need to be fixed, quoting them to me again won't make me agreeany more.

i would rather have it moved to the master box than have it nerfed, why cant the devs take some initiative ??

There are over a dozen "snares" in this game. Some, like AI, are severe movement penalties. Others, like the snare of holding a weapon, or the snare of /kneecapshot, are barely noticeable. There is no proof that the cloak snare will be like the AI snare. In fact, there's no info at all. So you yourself have NO clue how "major of an impact" this nerf will have.
Until people start realizing that not all snares are created equally, there will be a lot of confrusion. A "snare" is a generic word that doesn't tell you anything except that it's going to reduce your speed. It could be 99%, it could be .01%. So of course I don't know how severe of a nerf this will be-- you don't either. Because we have no idea of the degree of movement reduction that the snare will have.
Stop assuming it's going to be the same as AI, okay? Information is more helpful than speculation.
