Thread: How do you feel about pass thru healing?

sounds confusing and maybe only applicable to a healer, even then you are relying too heavily on soe to not have faulty coding.

I am a SOE customer. Now, if they would only treat me like one...
i used to be 4 accts out of 450k active accts
then 2 accts out of 250k
then 1 out of 200k
now 0 of 175k as of dec 25th....
i am a soe shareholder and do know how many active accts there are.

I hate it... it clutters my toolbar because like yousaid I have to have a separate icon for /forceheal self and /forceinfusion self and then the actual command if I want to heal anyone else.. w/o the macro I most likely die frequently because I heal the wrong person in combant and/or results in my group members dieing because the wrong person is healed..



I don't mind pass through attack... but pass through healing is a terrible pain in the a$$

If I wanted to heal someone else... I would target that person and heal them. Set the default healing target to self.

I like the idea, though it can be rough at times with quickly-switching aggros. As for the healing self problems, I just make a macro to heal myself and put it on the toolbar next to the targetless heal button or make a habit of hitting ctrl-1 to target myself, first.

Just another meaningless add-on that bothers more then it helps. Makes for mindless groups.

tbh, i couldn´t care less, healing is already bugged so you have to use /forceheal self macros if you wanna survive in a fight and it prolly will never get fixed anyways.

IT SUCKS. i have tried to heal myself soo many damn times and i heal others its a pain in the @$$ and due to this i have died soooooo many times its really starting to get really annoying

I'll say what I said in the CM forum:


As a regular healer, it sucks.


As a Jedi healer, it sucks.


It just sucks. Period. I want to control who I direct my heals to, I don't want a bunch of developers who obviously do not play the game make that decision for me through their buggy, ill thought out code.

Exactly. I think it stinks. And I think its a bug lingered in there from the pass-thru combat. Since the game sees healing as combat now, I personally think its a bug they are passing off as a 'mechanic'. Reason being it doesnt work all the time, its too spuradic to be intended.


Remove it. If we want to heal other, we will heal other on our own.

it's alreay in game... and it's pretty standard in most mmo games now so it's comfortable for me.


if you want to heal explicitely, you still can... so i don't see how the "cons" you found are actually cons unless you're relying on the system you dislike... it's like eating a hamburger every day when theres other things on the menu and then complaining that you eat too many hamburgers. Quit ordering hamburgers.




ie: quit relying on the system and start selecting your targets explicitely. CTRL+ may help you. Good luck.



i guess depends on your key config, but usually ctrl+1 is self or F1... good luck. I hope we remove this as a sticky in jedi because it's pointless.

Thanks everyone for your comments.


I put a thread like this in the Correspondent as well as the other healer forums and got much of the same comments.


TH did ask a few questions about the issues around pass thru healing so I know at least that the Devs are no aware of the issues and feelings of the community. That's about all I can do as a Correspondent.


If I hear of anything I will let you know.
