Thread: Focus Thread: Visibility Rules
My biggest problem with the game as many have stated before me is the devs lack of response on basic questions such as the rules of visibility. Kinda strange to play a game and the developers refuse to tell you the rules. I find this rather rude. I mean I have two accounts. had to buy swg disc for both. Then jump to lightspeed comes along, same thing. Then Rage of the Wookies.and soon the new expansion. Topping all this off i have to pay monthly to play. Now you wont even tell me the rules!!!
After thinking on this for awhile I finally realized why most likely. In hindsight and seeing all the continous bugs that have plagued this game, The fact that everytime they fix one they create two more. or make the matter worse. I realized that the Devs do not give the rules for vis because a)They are not sure 100% themselves b) they know how its supposed to work but is so bugged they dont want to tell us because they know the community will test it and demand a fix. c) both a & b. I personally go with c.
I personally feel that putting out new expansions and collecting more money from the players before you fix the buggs is not business like in anyway shape or form. shame on you soe!!!!
The collective of players has taken the devs , Measured,& weighed them and found them wanting! and unworthy!!!!! sorry devs. I call them as i see them!

Another bit of useful info is wear a piece of armour when in company, it stops you 'accidentaly' using a force power
Good suggestion this.
I accidentally Force Meditated in the cantina at Mining Outpost, Dantooine by clicking the button on the toolbar thinking it was "sit", then realising a second later that it was actually my "sit and F.Med" macro.
There must've been at least 25 people within 32m
Things that grant Visibility.
1) Activating/ Deactivatingany Force powers within 35m of any Bi-ped NPC or PC
2) Equiping/ Unequipingyour Saber or Robe within 35m of any Bi-ped NPC or PC
3) Ignighting your saber within 35m of any Bi-ped NPC or PC
Some stipulations apply to some of the powers.
- Aura/Valor/Absorb/Sheild/Armor grant Visibility everytime you are attacked while it is active.
- Force Run DOES NOT grant Visibility if it is active before entering (you can run around all you want and not get visibility)
- Wearing robes and haveing a saber equiped DOES NOT grant Visibility. Only Equiping/ Unequiping grants Visibility.
- Being Grouped does not grant Visibility.
- Drive-bys DO NOT grant visibility.
cba to read all the posts hereso i dont know if this has been posted yet, but a nice tip to determine whether or not a certain npc etc will grant vis is to hover your cursor over their icon on the minimap (default at bottom left of screen) If it is described as a "character" it WILL give vis, if it is tagged as an "Entity" it will NOT give vis. doesnt apply to all vis dealing objects but helps a bit when wandering round.
Also any force power that continuously uses force eg. cloak, this will generate vis as it is a constantly renewed force power. same as AI etc. Anything that uses force while active eg. being hit by a mob while using force armouor or aura will give vis afaik. Sabers and Robes only give vis if equipped or unequipped within vis range(32-35m is the general consensus), if they are equipped outside vis range then kept equipped they dont generate vis.
people often say that anything you can heal eg. speeders etc, will give vis...this is not true, i have been jedi since early 2004 and never once have i had a bh come for me after hunting near a bike etc.
