After reading a recent posting I can still see that people prefer the old system to the new system 10 fold. The pros and cons have been weighed on countless occasions by many great minds that I did not know existed on SWG until I read their postings. That being said, everyone please key in on the idea of an old system server. I know this topic has been bounced around several times before but I undoubtedly believe it needs to be in the devs faces again.

The CU feels incredibly stale and slow(this is not a CU bashing thread so I will not get too involved on how). I truly believe the only reason so many vets like myself still play is because of the friends we have made and the hope that we oh so desperately cling to that things will get better. I have given the CU a long time now and still dislike it with a passion. According to the recent posting I am not alone in my opinionwith a ratio of at least 10 to 1.

Please, bring the game back that we fell in love with. Give us the option is all we ask. Give us a clean serverin the old system. I will gladly start from sctrach. I have a feeling many many of you would start out fresh too. thanks for reading

I have to agree with you, they needed a few fixes to some things in game, not an entire upgrade. Things like 2k+ mind ticks from CM's and pikes needed to be nerfed, as well as exceptional weapons and such. They could have made all of the sabers the same damage, and I think it could have been fine. Instead we had an entire upgrade that more or less ruined the game in my opinion, friends keep me from pressing the cancel button, not SOE. Sorry if it did not make sense, just had to rant.

You might be able to get on a Japanese server somehow, you will just have to be creative with your communication.

I would go even as far to say that i could do without ROTW or trials of Obi-wan if they were not equipped to facilitate them in the old system.

I wonder if a group of investors could purchase SWG's old system and start a couple old style servers under a different company's name. Give Sony a piece of the action of course but, let the old system be ours. Get our own devs. hmm.

I would live quite contently in a server stuck forever at publish 8. Screw the village, screw the FS grind. I believe that regardless of what system is implemented, people are going to go for Jedi as long as it's in the game. Assuming this is true, the holo system was the best option for the economy as wellI really really miss the pre-9 system. cantinas were packed both because of holo grinders and people interested in the profs. There were plenty of all types of crafters, and when you got Jedi, you had the option to keep your identity a secret. /drool

I whole heartedly agree. Secret indentity was certainly one of the fantastic things about being a jedi.

How about we get a New server where the Old man is turned off first? We have been asking much longer then the people who miss 95% resist armor and 5K buffed HAM.

The old system was Stale as hell, many many many people quit because of the old system

The fact that a player could have a looted weapon that is that devastating certainly made it interesting for me. Much more of a challenge. The lightsaber psg's would certainly have to go but other than that......

Well I do remember Han having a one piece suit made out of carbonite but it weighed a ton. Still it didnt require any ironing and was very wear resistant.

Only if SOE was not running the show. If I had the investors and the contacts to hire great devs, I would make SOE an offer to purchase thier technology implemented in the old system. I would make a killing! All the players would go to my company to play in the old system. What an idea. Sony would never sell their stuff but I can dream....

You are asking if I would start all over again just to go back to waiting an hour in a buff line before I would even dare to go outside the star port, only to grind in complete solitude, after whichwhen I was done I would run into a 90%-composite-invulnarable rifleman who would kill me in 2 seconds because he had gotten lucky and looted a weapon that did 10 times the damage that my own did?

err, no thanks, I think I'll stick with this new one.
