Thread: Master Powers without any LS?

Hey, i'm still grindin out FS, but i'm planning on going FOTM withMP in place of MLS.My question is, does MP alone do enough damage to nonjedi to knock em out easy without using a lightsaber? Partly i really like the idea of using powers as my main source of damage and partly i just don't want to deal with post-CU sabers.... i understand that with only MP i won't be able to kill Jedi in PvP but with the type of saber i would have at the start, i probably wouldn't be able to kill them anyway.


So... does MP without any LS skills work?

Im right there with you. I do not even want to mess with post cu cabers and having to tune 300 pearls to finish my saber so I want to go Mpowers as well. From what I have read so far...Mpowers rocks against non-jedi (choke/lightning ftw!) and I have seen a few BH vs. MPowers and the Jedi wiped the floor pretty quickly with the BH.


Summation:

* Mpowers vs. BH = Pretty Darn Good

* Mpowers 1 vs. 1 Jedi = Not good for the Mpowers unless the other guy is the same temp,

* Mpowers group pvp vs. other jedi = Decent but not too impressivebecause of crowd control abilities

Yeah Zanx, we are on the same page... the only thing is, I have a BH alt and i've hunted MP jedi who DO have sabers, and i can outheal them easily. I'm wondering whether it's just because they suck, or because their saber is worse than their powers attacks, or because they wasted SP in saber attacks when they could have had more defense(like an MP Fotm template would have) and whipped me.


Not to mention on my server, Wanderhome, Krayts don't seem to be spawning... anyone know what the deal is with that?

I've heard that Armor Break + Saberthrow + Mpowers is pretty sick, I'm not to knowledgeable and thats about the most that I know about Powers.

Currently I'm Powers 3422, Enhancer 4204, Healer 4000 andtrying to reach MPowers, MEnhancer, Healer 4040. I don't even hold a saber and so far love the template.


HoweverI can alsosee how having this template can limit your involvement in the game. I had thehonor of heading to the DWB with some guildies. I could use a total of3 attacks because every other attackI have is AOE. This made memore of a show piece in the group rather than an asset. I have kept vis down so have yet had a BH hit me, soI can't say much in that regard. I do find myself useful in a spin group though, force intimidate is a tankers best friend.


If your a Dark Force Wielder at heart MPowers is the way to go. Find your play style and run with it.

I have been doing powers. I'm 2 boxes away and have a good template of def .


Plan on hating life with powers. It is the worst template in the game. Any non jedi will absolutely own you. You can't heal fast enough if you try any power zip up - and wait on animation attacks. By the time you get 1 attack off you are down 50% health. By the second attack you are dead. A good BH will kill you in the time you get 3 attacks off.

I am currently MP/ME, Healer 3000 and Defender 0020 and I am having a hard time fighting anyone without sabers. Powersalone just doesn't have thedamage output to competewithanyone with a decent temp and food combination.I am now grinding for MP, E. 4004, H. 4000, D. 0040, and S. 0400. With sabers in my template I should be able to put a little more hurt on.

As for hating life with Powers that seems a little dramatic, Powers jedi can definitely dish somedamage to nonjedi or to other jedi who dont have force defense from Defender.


Anyway, here are the potential templates:


nosaber: Master Powers / Defender 4040 / Enhancer 3402 / Healer 4000


armor break:Master Powers / Lightsaber 0400 / Defender 0040 / Enhancer 3003 / Healer 4100


true saber: Master Powers / Lightsaber 0404 / Enhancer 3402/ Healer 4000



What i'd really like is a word from current MP jedi on how their damage is vs. Non-jedi when alternating only powers attacks. Thx for the help so far guys, it's great.... keep it coming plz!

sounds like someone needs to learn how to play their template perhaps? i hear nothing but good things about mpowers vs. bh... cept from you
