I dont understand how alot of you guys are Jedi and have no idea how weapon stats work. DPS does not mean anything! If you use any special attacksthen the DPS theory goes out the window because it doesnt account for any of your attack multipliers. DPS is only accurate if you use /attack. Any other special will null DPS. The only stats that matter for damage are MIN and MAX and unlike the old system your min damage is now just as important as the max. There is just too many posts were Jedi keep refering to dps and all they are doing is making us look like noobs. Try reading the weaponsmith forums guys.

Good call. personalyI like minimum damage with my guns.I get faster killsand its easier to trounce Big Game.
Since most my fights vs MBH's last 20-30 mins, I use /attack a heck of a lot more than I do any specials. In fact, I rarely use specials till I see 25% or lower on teh BH's action and mind. So IMOdps does matter, more than you seem to think it does anyway.

but even with just using saber hit your dps is way off because it takes about 3 secs inbetween each one, while your saber says your speed is about 1.2 - 1.8 speed which cuts your displayed dps in half lol

if DPS doesnt matter then why does a pre CU damage saber hurt much more than my post CU damage saber with over 700 max?...it has to count for something, the damage taken by an 800 DPS saber compared to a 520 DPS reflects it

some people will never get it![]()
heres a basic thing for you
say you got a 700 max damage weapon that swings every second which equals 700 dps
now say i got a weapon that does 5000 damage and swings once a min so the dps = 83.33333333 (i know, i know its not in game)
now we both got 3000 health and both hit on the first hit, do you think dps matters now?

there is no difference, if you have a pre cu saber with 600 - 700 and i have a post cu one with the same they hurt just as much.
yeah they do hurt just as much, but the 800 + DPS saber does the damage faster, theres no 2 ways round it,higher DPS sabers are better than lower DPS sabers

no it doesnt, il go 1 on 1 with someone with a 800+ dps saber, and most of the time il hit them alot harder because they are freaking nubs who think dps is king and spend all their points in speed. On the other hand my saber is exp 8 damage, 5 efficiancy 725 max and with a mod speed of 1.29 due to pearls in it.

QFE
Min/Max Damageshowshort term damage, i.e. from hit to hit.
DPS shows long term damage, i.e. average damage per second over an entire battle.
There are too many unknowns (food, healing, armor, defense/accuracy mods) to go purely based on DPS in a 1 on 1 battle. Unless you have 2 players that are identical template, no extra mods and fight using /attack. The one with better DPS should win the fight. Real encounters aren't like this and to base your whole opinion on DPS is just silly.
